Mold and Nasty Funk!

OK, so I have a little problem with some mold and mildew on my gear. Not actually gear, but the soft top of my Jeep. I stored it in my basement this winter like I normally do. Condensation got under and the funk started to grow. It is just in one small area on the top (I think).

Any recomendations? Anyone with a Jeep Wrangler experience this as well.

How should I fight the funk?

You can't fight the funk.
You have no option but to get your groove on.

This is still my wife's car and she called me this morning mad as hell. I have to admit, the smell is pretty bad.

The guy at the Jeep dealership said I could use dish soap and some kind of brush to scrub it out.

You might try the vinegar and baking soda mix I talked about on another thread recently. That combo will kill the smell of mold guaranteed, and its gentle so it shouldn't harm the fabric. Might not remove the visible stain, though.

Disclaimer: Might harm the material, do a test spot first. This product has not been tested on animals. May cause balding. Could give user a sudden urge to eat a vinegrette salad, or vomit.

Ha Ha! Nice disclaimer!

Yea, I was thinking of this combo too.

I will make a trip report of it, photos and get back with this on Monday.

Watch out, WK. It may be contagious. Remember Stephen King in Creepshow?

We want the funk. Gotta have the funk.
Try warm soapy water and rinse well. Let air-dry on a sunny day while listening to Parliament. Once dry, spray the area multiple times with light applications of Lysol.

Next, get up on the down stroke...
