Memorial Day weekend
At the urging of another Trail Talker, I'm planning a backpacking trip on the Upper Iowa over Memorial Day weekend.

It's open to anyone, however, you better have a valid e-mail or otherwise prove yourself. It will be listed as a private trip on the "Trips" page.

(I don't appreciate trolls signing up for trips just so they get in on the e-mails, etc.)

But, as I said, all are welcome. C'mon lets have some fun!! :-)

Upper Iowa River?
Up here most folks know it as the "Lower Wisconsin" River.

hehe, nice reply Snake Eyes... I refer to it as the "Another area between me and the Rockies" River.

Looks like I can make it, lizs. I should know tomorrow.

Hell, here I thought that Lewis N. Clark feller already discovered it.

Nope, that Clark feller was too focused on some married lady named Mrs. Ippee to notice this river...

I thought Mrs. Hippy was still in drug rehab.

In fact during that time period of magic, wandering and drug use she and her husband took me in, gave me shelter and probably saved my life. They were immortalized in song and you may remember the words: "Oh I was born to wander, I was born to roam, but Mr. and Mrs. Hippy made me feel at home."

You guys are weird.

Snake Eyes, are ya in? Now my one other cohort -- who shall remain unnamed, but has posted to this thread -- might be "out."

Yeah, I was really hoping Kleety could make it.

Yeah, right! LMFAO!!

Hmm... let's use process of elimination to see who lizs is talking about. :)

I hated to send that last email, lizs. I've got a friend in Omaha that I haven't seen for several years and he's likely not able to meet for beer till the 29th. I was hoping for the 22nd.

So you're out then, for sure?

Someone else is interested. Even if I couldn't be there Monday, would it work for Sun-Mon? Just checking to see how it might work for our other potential participant.

I sent an email to my beer buddies but haven't heard back. Will let you know.

So how far north does Georgia go?

"So how far north does Georgia go?"
~T Mac

No farther than absolutely necessary...

Dammit!
I can't go and for the dumbest of reasons. I have house guests. My daughters 2 cats. One of them, my ex-cat, is 17 years old and requires assistance. Can you believe that, done in by 2 cats?
