i'm not sure what my dad is wanting to do... he's quite indecisive... worse than me it almost seems. but he has been talking about heading out that direction sometime... i'm just not sure when. i'd be willing to do anything any time.”

It's been a few years, but I hail from Minnesota. And I remember Riverfest.

Welcome Everestnut. I used to live in Pelican Rapids, a little town 3 hours or so NW of the cities. I still get up there many times a year. Perhaps one of these days we will meet on a hike. And yes, this site is addiciting. What you do is what I dreamed of one day doing when I was a little girl. I'm jealous! It's been far too long since I've been on the back of a fine horse.”

That would be great to meet up with you and possibly others along the trail. I enjoy hiking along the north shore, any state parks, the superior hiking trail, BWCA, and eventually the first BIG test of my hiking skills will be next year. I am hoping to make a trip to Isle Royale National Park. Probably 10-12 days of hiking/camping. I'm not a hardcore hiker like most of the people on this website probably are. I prefer to be camping somewhere and hike where the trail may take me and then come back. I've really not explored backpacking yet..sounds exciting though. Hope to hear from you again.”

Also, I will be heading west -- I-90 ya know -- some time around Thursday. So you'd be on the way if ya wanted to "do lunch" or some such thing. However, I don't know yet what time it will be. Also, I'll heading west as in vacationbound... and once I hit the road, I like to keep going! LOL! Anyhoo... it's an idea.”

“I'll be back for the second half of the weekend, late saturday to monday i'll be free.

Let me know what time thursday, or any other day you're coming through... my town isn't a very good place to 'do lunch' all we have is the malt shop. Albert Lea is 10 miles back east of here.”

Gosh, I can't even remember the last time I covered a graduation!! "Covered" consists of either A) Pre-graduation stuff, or B) post-graduation stuff. I never hung around to cover both. :-) Course, in the past I had to hit two afterrnoon graduations on the same day!”
