One less star?

Calling the approval of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts "the straw that broke the camel's back," a group of Christian activists is in the beginning stages of an effort to have one state secede from the United States to become its own sovereign nation....

Sorry, too lazy to make it a hyperlink. :P

Yeah, we've all learned from the past that separating ourselves is the way to go. Finding a way to work things out is never a good idea.

Maybe they could put up a wall or a fence too...and station some troops along the border. They could call it the Butt Patrol. (Sorry couldn't help myself)

OK, given how you feel about them, why do you care?

I notice that they want to move to a nice, warm coastal state. Glad to see they have their priorities straight! Why not North Dakota?

OK, given how you feel about them, why do you care?

It just proves what I've always contended: christofascists are traitors to this country. They should be purged from the country, but they can't take a state with them. They can have Mexico.

Are all Christians considered christofascists by you? I didn't read the article because I have no interest in forming some new state.

Mutt
I'm thinking that perhaps they feel the same about you. Who's right? Should they have to tolerate same-sex marriage just cause you think it's right? Can you make an argument for your side with out resorting to name calling and ranting? I've never seen any evidence of it.

Are all Christians considered christofascists by you?

Certainly not! Just the ones who want to subvert the constitution by supporting establishment, among other similar foolish goals.

Who's right?

Why I am, of course. Yes, they do have to tolerate it. Just as racists have to tolerate, oh, miscegenation, christofascist bigot scumbags have to tolerate homosexuality. And no, I probably can't argue about christofascism without namecalling and ranting. :-P

I gotta go with the Muttster here.
We all have to tolerate something we don't like. Give it up.
Why do any of you really care about this issue? Is someone suggesting that you have to marry another man?
JO

Homosexuality really isn't a hotbutton issue for me. I was just curious if all Christians were being lumped together. That seems to happen here some by the folks that hate religion.

So they chose South Carolina? I'm sure that was pure coincidence.

Lemme guess, they want to start their campaign of unbridled idiocy at Fort Sumpter?

So "they" have to tolerate something they do not like, but you have no tolerance for what they want ??

Nice going Mutt and JO.

If you cannot tolerate intolerant people, are you unable to tolerate yourself ? or are you an oxymoron?

This old fallacy again. Once again: being intolerant of intolerance does not make a person intolerant. This fallacy is always used by racists, as well: "You're the racist, you're the one who brought racism into this! All I done was make a comment about blacks!"

Whoever this group of Christian activists are (I'm not sure), they need to reexamine their doctrine, which clearly states this world is not our "home". This is not heaven on earth. A perfect world awaits, but it is not now. Their goal should be to reach out to those they feel are living in sin and not try and create some isolated and comfortable world for them to dwell. Just my thoughts as a rather lousy Christian.

No link, because I didn't go to the site first.

I would think somewhere in the Midwest would be better. South Carolina could be easily invaded by heathens from other parts of the world. Now, take Kansas for example. You could easily fence off the whole dang state. Or, how about Utah? It's halfway to what they want already.

PA wouldn't be a bad choice.

it's also halfway there already, and it's not right next door to nevada with all of the las vegas evil sinners like utah is.

Disclaimer. I like relion, even organized religion. I like people who practice organized religion (dayhiker, nigal, etc.). I despise those in organized religions that want to impose thier religious morals on the rest of us..... ie the christofacstists (falwell, baker, etc.)

I’ve emailed this group with my Biblical citations proving that their utopia resides not in South Carolina but behind Hale-Bopp.

I’m taking a collection to supply each member with $5.75 (exact change required) and a brand new pair of Nike sneakers.

Send your pledge to me at violin@yahoo.com.

the christofacist "christians" are tolerant of squat. if you don't agree with what they say, they pray for you to see the "light", or that you will be "saved". they don't except what you believe, they don't tolerate what you believe, they try and change what you believe.

manuka....that's utterly ridiculous. If there is a married gay couple down the street minding their own business I can't see how there is anything that you or anyone has to tolerate.

Perhaps it bothers you because you're unsure of yourself. I detect a little ambiguity.

Fatuous nonsense. Histrionics != intolerance. Theatrics aside, the main issue I see people criticisizing christians on is intolerance. And for the millionth time, criticisizing intolerance != intolerance.

artificially high wages?

That's a laughable opinion, probably derived from union knowledge of the 70's. Show me an example of union work done at artificially high wages.
