i can think of a few reasons why promiscuity, incest, pre-marital sex, infidelity, beastiality, pluralism, unprotected sex and other things are bad

AIDS is why promiscuity and unprotected sex is bad. it doesnt justify calling homosexuality bad. it may happen one in a billion times (i know as soon as i say its never happened, someones going to throw out that ONE time it happened), but i cant see a lesbian contracting AIDS from another lesbian.

people are just freaked out by it and so make up bogus moral reasons. people who never talk to you about the bible all of a sudden start quoting the bible as their reason against it.

I actually had the pastors wife say that she wouldnt want me teaching her kid when she found out (I never lied or hid it, no one ever asked) even though I had been teaching him for 6 years. The irony was she was overweight (gluttony? or sloth?) as was a huge part of our church. We had big meals weekly and over 1/2 of our church was obese, I heard ONE sermon on gluttony in 8 years there, but countless about smoking,drinking sex etc... birch I also agree with, but I'd add one point of clarification. sin is sin is sin, but being repentant of your sin is different. For example, trying to stop smoking because you know it's abuse of your temple is different that rebelling and just deciding to smoke indefinitely. We all sin, but we don't all repent. It's true that many Christians are too quick to "point out another's speck". That in itself is a sin, and we need to lovingly rebuke that sin as any other as fellow Christians.”
