“So I took this chick to see Shrek 2 the other night and the theater had signs up saying they were selling sneak preview tickets to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban...so of course she had to go (as well as her sister and another friend). So Dub shelled out the money for 4 overpriced tickets and will be viewing this movie tonight. Anyone else plan on seeing it?”

“Well, yah. I have kids, ya know?”

“I don't need to see it.”

“I wouldn't go see it if you paid me.”

“Harry who?”

“4 tix? I hope you at least got to cop a feel outta that. If not... you got jipped.”

“Oh dear!”

“I heard that in the last one, Harry dies and I put out.”

Let's see the results...

"Why aren't you supposed to do magic?" asked Harry.

"Oh, well -- I was at Hogwarts meself but I -- er -- got expelled, ter tell yeh the truth. In me third year. They snapped me wang in half an' everything

A magic wang... this was what Harry had been really looking forward to.

"Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter." It wasn't a question. "You have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wang. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wang for charm work."

"Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wang. Eleven inches. "

Harry took the wang. He felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised the wang above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls

"Oh, move over," Hermione snarled. She grabbed Harry's wang, tapped the lock, and whispered, 'Alohomora!"

The troll couldn't feel Harry hanging there, but even a troll will notice if you stick a long bit of wood up its nose, and Harry's wang had still been in his hand when he'd jumped - it had gone straight up one of the troll's nostrils.

He bent down and pulled his wang out of the troll's nose. It was covered in what looked like lumpy gray glue.

He ran onto the field as you fell, waved his wang, and you sort of slowed down before you hit the ground. Then he whirled his wang at the dementors. Shot silver stuff at them.

"Yes," Harry said, gripping his wang very tightly, and moving into the middle of the deserted classroom. He tried to keep his mind on flying, but something else kept intruding.... Any second now, he might hear his mother again... but he shouldn't think that, or he would hear her again, and he didn't want to... or did he?

Something silver-white, something enormous, erupted from the end of his wang

Then, with a sigh, he raised his wang and prodded the silvery substance with its tip.

'Get - off - me!' Harry gasped. For a few seconds they struggled, Harry pulling at his uncles sausage-like fingers with his left hand, his right maintaining a firm grip on his raised wang.”

“LMAO!”

“Well, I thought it had an overal darker feeling than the other two movies. It also seemed to follow the book less than the other two, skipping on lots of details. Most of the characters were underplayed as the movie focused more on Harry and Hermione. Lupin's character should have been played by a younger guy, he just seemed too old. This movie also seemed less magical...they seemed to use it less in this movie, less lessons as well.

Overall it was okay, out of the first three books I probably like book three the best. Out of the first three movies, I like movie three the least. Disappointing.

Also, another major flaw was continuity. The campus changed a lot. The womping willow tree is in the wrong place as is Hagred's hut. Uniforms and dorm rooms as well as the castle itself changed quite a bit.”

“i think all that sounds good, Dub! the first two movies were just like reading the books again...just exactly how i imagined everything when i read them. not that exciting. so i'm glad the 3rd one is different!”

I would say wang up. It's a decent movie, but I enjoyed it less than the other two. This was a new, different director and the fourth one will have yet another new, different director. If the fourth one sucks I think they should go back to Chris Columbus.”

“Dub, there's something wrong with you if you didn't enjoy that movie. Story and scenery changes aside, it works really really well and I recommend people go see it.”

“it did tend to track the book a little less closely, but mostly for time more than any kind of license the producer/director took. The story line was right on with the book.

I liked it, so did the kids.

“I have read all the books twice. Once with my kids and once for me. have seen both movies multiple times. I liked this movie better than the othere two and I loved the other two. This one was more like what movie making is all about. It told the story visually. So the whomping willow wasn't in teh middle of a field and Hagrids hut was in another spot. His hut was much more realistic this time. I could never really imagine him living in the other one.

There was also some hand holding between Harry and Hermoine. And hermoine asked Ron if he wanted to move closer, err To the Shrieking Shack I mean.
Great movie. I think even non-HP fans will enjoy this one.”
