Obama gave his first State of the Union address. They say it was the best State of the Union address ever delivered by an African-American president.

Either way it's a callous and ugly thing to say, Hyway.

You are implying that Democrats have voted against peace.

You are the hate-spewing queen of Trail Talk.

marko is so cute. for 6 years the democrats have been begging for an american defeat in iraq so the republicans can look bad. they were so scared that the success that the surge is would cost Obama a few votes that they refused to acknowledge that it was even a success until even a blind squirrel would have noticed. so get off the notion that the democrats will sacrifice their political careers for peace anywhere

Few get into and no one stays around in DC without dancing with arms lobbyist. Surge troops were more audience for the Sunni buyout than anything else. Now we're seeing how that money that went through Pakistan into the Teliban's hand's helped keep them off Zarzai's butt for years. Shades of Olie buyin' the enemy, eh?

CQ TODAY MIDDAY UPDATE
March 16, 2009 – 2:13 p.m.

Business Group Says Multinational Corporations Are American at Heart

As leading congressional Democrats ramp up their assault on offshore tax avoidance, a top business association is defending the role of multinational corporations in the U.S. economy.

With the Senate Finance Committee set to hold a hearing Tuesday on legislation that would crack down on tax havens, the Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers at corporate giants like Microsoft Corp. and Procter and Gamble, released a study on Monday titled “How Multinational Companies Strengthen the U.S. Economy.”

Multinational companies do more for the U.S. economy that companies that go bankrupt and go completely out of business. And many (most?) multinational businesses pay a lot (A LOT) in U.S. taxes. I don't mean to defend them espcially, just to point out that just being a multinational does not necessarily make them bad.

How much does it cost tax payers to support these companies foreign military protection? Tell me they really pay even that amount in taxes. Don't be using Black Water as a chaser for that cheap whiskey.

Vice President Joe Biden’s discussed the economy in stark terms at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser Monday night, in contrast with the upbeat tone coming from the White House over the past few days.

In a 20-minute speech in the lobby of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Biden said President Obama "has inherited the most difficult first 100 days of any president, I would argue, including Franklin Roosevelt."

Hey I can see that...after all FDR was a seasoned professional...PreZBO is slowly emerging as a totally unskilled bumbler.

A Vote for 'Rich Whitey'

Oct 15 2010, 12:14 PM ET

Vote "Rich Whitey," candidate for the people.

In a curious case of electoral misspelling, a private vendor has misspelled the name of Illinois Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney on thousands of electronic voting machines in Chicago, dubbing him instead as "Rich Whitey," the Associated Press reports.

And the Illinois Green Party chairman is hinting that it's not so good for his candidate:

"We don't have any idea what affect that has had on voters," Huckelberry said. "I think something needs to be done above and beyond what they're doing."

Not only has the mistake made Chicago a laughingstock, he said, but "our candidate ... has been tagged with a name that really isn't that nice."

...yeah, cause THAT'S what's gonna keep him from getting elected
