Pretty darn big Aspen tree...

“Kelli and I went in to Blue Lake Canyon, in Lassen Park to get some pictures and rough measurements of the Aspen tree we think may be a record holder. Depending on where you measure it's 107" (circumference) at the 5' level or 140" at about 3' off the ground.

There appears to be some damage at the bottom, so we can't tell if it was once two trees that split or what happened....I'll let the biologists figure that out. If the 140" measurement stands, its the biggest, by some 18" or so. I'm still trying to find the site that had the record trees listed. Even if it's not...these are some big, beautiful trees!

Someone here at TT gave me a link that mentioned the largest (circumference) tree...I can't find it in my book marks and a search here doesn't pull it up...anyone remember?”

Spirithand's (Kelli) circumference at 5' is about 16"
