very close friends of ours “this boy is a classmate of my oldest boy. he is the most incredibly gifted athlete and a wonderful, delightful person. his younger brother is a classmate of my 10 yr old and i am very close to the younger, as i coached him in basketball and got really attached to him. their mother , God bless her soul, is involved in every aspect of their lives and is truely a treasure. their father died suddenly and it was just so tragic and stunning when it happened. we take the boys camping with us and try to help them whenever we can.... their church sent out this e-mail explaining the situation so i'll let it explain, but if anyone can help, even if it's just 5 or 10 or 20 or 100 dollars, please consider it. these boys mean alot to me and to their mom and everyone who knows them. i love them as my own. please help if you can. thank you, stratdewd here's the e-mail; I received this from a parishioner, and I am passing it along to you for your consideration. A family in Fayetteville lost their husband and dad three years ago to heart complications as a result of cancer treatment. The family has recovered from that tragic loss pretty well, but over spring break this year, the son, Brad, got bonked on the head by a baseball. While getting checked out at the doctor, a brain tumor was discovered. The tumor or a major portion of it needs to be removed. To make matters worse, the mother's health insurance does not cover this very specialized and very expensive procedure and some friends (including our parishioner) are working on helping her. Brad's surgery is scheduled for June 15th at Children's hospital in Little Rock. A "get well soon"/support Brad pool party at the Fayetteville athletic club is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9th from 6 pm until 10 pm. Any donations that are collected from this event will go towards helping with Brad's medical bills. Penguin Ed's Barbeque and Jose's have been generous enough to donate food. Some autographs and Razorback memorabilia will be raffled off as well. I'd like to commend this opportunity to you. In addition to the pool party, donations may be made directly to the following account: Brad Hollenbeck Benefit Account #27255647 Arvest Bank Downtown Branch 75 N East Avenue Fayetteville, AR 72701 Also, and most importantly, please keep Brad and his family in your prayers. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Bill” 9:05:30 PM 6/14/04 “.....” 10:20:50 PM 6/14/04 “keep them in you prayers” 8:49:23 AM 6/15/04 Not about politics... “It just breaks my heart to read things like this. I am sitting not 10 miles north of the U.S. border and a situation like that is simply impossible here. In fact, our system will send you to the U.S. if the necessary treatments are not available here. When are you guys going to figure it out - for the love of God? Doug” 9:02:45 AM 6/15/04 “thanks for bumping this up, i missed the thread last night. I'm guessing/hoping that they feel pretty good the surgery will be effective and the kids chances look good following the removal? I know there's no guaranty in these things. Good luck Brad.” 9:04:33 AM 6/15/04 “If I'm reading it right, checks would be made out to "Brad Hollenbeck Benefit Account #27255647" and sent to the above address?” 9:14:25 AM 6/15/04 “yes violin, that's correct. thank you for your consideration. roam, it's a very uncertain situation. he hasn't had many ill affects from the tumor so far, other than a few migrains but the doctors are extremely alarmed because of the mass and location. one things for certain, serious problems will soon arise if drastic action isn't taken immediately. gremlin, this is voluntary and no time for bickering about politics. please help if you can, even if it's just saying a sincere prayer.” 10:08:02 AM 6/15/04 “just in case anyone missed it...” 11:34:36 PM 6/15/04 “This thread displays to me the plight of a conserative that is believing in some liberal ideas. Ps. I mean no malus , but point.” 1:13:58 AM 6/16/04 “that's where you're wrong saleboard. you might as well say african americans all eat watermelon. maybe you should meet me before you label me.... so, you don't care about people i love cuz i'm conservative? whoa nelly....” 1:19:36 AM 6/16/04 “I'll be remembering Brad.” 7:48:48 AM 6/16/04
