“i quit because i'm overworked and underpaid. no raise in 2+ years. too little time to hike and camp and float. too much time on call. last year i coached 2 of my kids teams in baseball, this year i've missed at least half of my boys' games. got a new boss a couple years ago who was vastly underqualified for the job. he had NO maintenance knowledgeand no appreciation for what i did and worst no balls to go to bat for me with the bigwig office types. he was the owners room mate in college(and the q-back at OSU) and has been riding his coattails ever since....we got into a petty argument and he's been riding me hard lately and i lost my temper and tod him where to go(hint-it's very very warm there). i've been wanting out for some time, just couldn't bear to part with that shiney new truck. i should have waited untill i got a job but the way he's been hassling me i didn't have time to look.”

“I got laid off from my job after 7 years in 2002. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I've got a new job now. It's closer to home, pays better, the benefits are better and I get about 7 weeks a year vacation to go backpacking and hunting. I still call my old bosses and thank them for laying me off!

I haven't paid for the net in 4 yrs,, its dail-up BUT FREE.

“One of the worst tings a person can do is stay stagnat. People must evolve over time in order to become complete. Sometimes, chances must be taken in order to improve ones situation.

I am not suprised that that you took the upper hand and gave it to your bosses; nobody deserves that kind of treatment. I've worked with, and for, some real low class peeps like you described and I understand where you are coming from.

More importantly, you cannot put a price tag on the time lost with your children, that is the most special thing in the world. They only grow up once and I concider it an honor to help guide them through there lives. These are the most important times in thier lives, the greatest time to make a positive impact in thier lives. There are too many people out there spending too much time at work, and not enough time at home. I guess it's just the way it is nowadays.
