Fuel
I'm getting ready to take a 10 day trip at Glacier. Been a while since I have taken a trip that long. I have a Markill Titanium Hot Rod and a MSR Pocket Rocket Stove. What fuels have you found to burn best and longest on these stoves.

I've used MSR, Markill and Snow Peak canister fuel and not noticed a signifcant difference in temperature or efficiency. Also, for a 10 day trip, I'd be tempted to use a white gas stove instead of a canister stove.

i'd never use a canister on a 10-day without a couple resupply points along the way.

I used a cannister on a 14 day trip last summer. I used the regular sized MSR brand fuel cannister and at our resupply on day 9 I still had plenty of fuel left. I guess for maybe another 2 days of burn. So for me 10 days with a snall can is just fine.

I boiled water only for breakfast and dinner. Obviously what matters is how much and how long you plan to cook.

Good point, HPM. Both the number and type of meals will impact the amound of fuel needed.

I'm also on the lightweight guy.

i try to keep my total pack weight down below 20lbs and canisters make that tough.

oops.

i'm not "on" the lightweight guy.

i'm "a" lightweight guy.

HPM, i'm guessing you're one of those guys who don't mind carrying 50+ lb packs ?

They now sell cannisters that are half size too.
