Stupid Stupid Stupid
Just got word, as I am an Emt in the area, that 3 student were killed today in a car accident! They were all 9th graders and the driver was a senior in his last day and he did not die! Rumors, take them for what they are, is the he was drinking and speed and booze were involved. When will they ever learn. Three 9th graders funerals, what a way to end a year. Sorry for venting but frustrated, thanks for listening!

jackcanine, sorry to hear about that accident. This stuff is way too common, kids and cars (and booze) are a really bad combo.

Your both right Buddur and Birch. I have to admit I read this all the time and dont react but our best friends taught 2 of these kids for conformation class and knew them well so it hits home. I mean 9th grade, what the hell is that, 12 or 13? What a waste.

Truly sorry, Jack. Vent all you want. It helps sometimes. You're a good hearted guy and this can't be anything but painful for you, the families and those that were close to them...

We lost a kid in our high school class to drag racing down the local boulevard late at night. Slipped in a curve and wrapped his truck around a telephone pole at about 80 mph. Not sure if alcohol was involved, but in order to do something like that, I'd figure you'd have to be doped up on something...

That's awful news.. I'm sorry to hear about it. Seems like it happens more and more each year. Sometime all too similar happened here a couple weeks ago. The drunk driver never gets killed as they're the most relaxed ones during the accident due to alcohol being a sedative and don't tense up in the wreck... bones don't break as easily, etc.

What a tragedy.

I hear you salebored, a long time ago I was a passenger in one of these crashes that claimed a life and seriously hurt another. Looks like SUV and speed so far they are downplaying the possible booze angle but I think they should let the kids know if this was involved!! Here is the link...

I have been to far too many funerals of students and former students. You never get used to it - especially at a small, rural high school.

Luckily (not luckily, but due to education, tough, very tough, laws and enforcement, as well as preventive measures) the tragic numbers are 'way down and these incidents have become rare.

Of course, one is too many.

It amazes me how lenient the states is on drink driving. Most people I've come across here have driven when over a safe limit. Ok, you wouldn't describe them as drunk most of the time, but certainly they've drunk enough where their responses will be affected.

Not the least bit, in fact I have gone out of my way to accomodate the people on this board who have threatened me with physical violence.

LOL. no, i'm not threatening you.

i'm a peace luvin' kinda guy :)

i meant exactly what i said. there was no hidden message.

i was wondering that since you seem to go out of your way to insult as many people as you can on a daily basis - if the thought had ever occured to you, that one day you might push someone too far.

Bacpac when are you going to realize you aren't impressing anyone?

As far as wrecks and teenagers go, it's been my experience that speed is almost always a contributing factor, even when there isn't alcohol involved. It's not that speed kills necessarily, it just seems that teen drivers either haven't got the experience to handle the speed, or they aren't aware of what the car they are driving can or cannot handle.

What is your beef stickman?

Threads about people getting killed in car wrecks or dying of natural causes bore me. It is not interesting and the the emotional drama being imparted offends me.

Add to that the fact the original post may or may not be completely factual.
Miss Anne Thrope

i know at least 5 people that died in a car accident, be it their fault or others. I was in my own accident once, lucky I survived, was my fault, no alcohol involved though. Just being stupid. that's not an excuse though, I could've killed others back then. thank god I was the only car around, and had no passengers.

I know one person that killed an infant because he didn't look in the back mirror while backing out of a constration site. (don't ask me what the child was doing there, but that showes you that you never know)

One thing I NEVER do is drive after I had a couple drinks.

Heard they really enforce the seatbelt law here in SC. $1200 fine if your kids are nut buckelt in. $80 or so if an adult is not buckelt in. I am all for it.

Stickman your perceptions are your own. They don't have much to do with me. There have been a few people specifically post that they were going to kick my @ss. (Someone can look it up)

They did not infer it, they said they were going to physically beat me up. The said it like the meant it. Some said they would use weapons. That is a threat.

I never theatened anyone. (Look it up). So to say that I thrive on threats is pattenly false, though there are people posting here who do.

Why don't you call them out :-)

within the context of this thread, at the time you posted it was an insult.

whether you intended it to be or not, it was an insult.

J.C.s reaction proved that.

but you already knew all of this.

you also know exactly what stickman is talking about and you know why people have posted that they would like to seriously injure you with or without weapons.

i'd bet alot of money that there are even a couple of lurkers who would love to meet you in a dark alley.

you know all this.

that's why it amazes me that you act the way that you do.

and no, before you ask, i'm not threatening you, and no, i personally do not wish you any harm.

Could've gave me the car.....
Usually happens when school is about to end.

A few years ago, a 30 something year old guy (son of a millionaire)picked up 3 teenagers and gave them a spin in his 911 Carrera. He had 2 radar detectors in his car. They told him to slow down, and he said not to worry because he had experience in racing.

Anyways one of the tires blew out on the Laurentiens highway...the car was going at 260+ kph. The only suvivor was the girl in the back...she popped out of the rear window when the car bounced on the grass.....she was very lucky to have hit grass instead of asphalt. The car smashed through 3 wooden lightpoles.

Driver was drunk too.

sacco, You have given this way more thought than it deserves. I don't agree with your synopsis, and I don't think people are out to get me. Even the ones who said they would hurt me, did not care to follow through with their threats once I made myself available.

Then again, I am man enough not to make Junior High threats in the first place. You would come across with a little more credibility if you hadn't already posted that you were going to beat me up. Good grief, I can't even believe we are having this discussion.
