The Cat's Meow 20 degree bagView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 4 of 4 messages posted.
TNF outlet in Freeport, Me. “I think it was Skiracer who was saying TNF in Freeport had these bags for a ridiculous price. Then I heard of others who were considering them. We were just there today, and they have 2 bins of them, maybe 20 in all for $70.00 each!!!! They are listed at $139.00 and a sign that says 50% off the lowest ticketed price. And we just got 20 degree down bags last year.... Anyways, if anyone is interested and heading up towards LL Beans, TNF's outlet is literally just across the street. Here is TNF's link to a Cat's Meow: http://www.thenorthface.com/opencms/opencms/tnf/gear.jsp?productId=136” 8:56:57 PM 6/19/04 “I looked at one yesterday. They just don't pack down small enough for me.” 8:59:50 PM 6/19/04 “BackPackGearTest Reviews Real weight of bags a little less than 3 #. Becomes a 40 degree bag after a few stuffings into the stuff sack. Still, for $70, it ain't bad.” 11:03:54 PM 6/19/04 “I've had one of these since about 1993 and I've only recently noticed a decrease in its warmth (I use it about 15 days per year). Its a little heavier than the newer models, but still my favorite bag for spring/summer/fall. Maybe the problem with the 2003-04 models is the newer style of Polarguard. The new material may be warmer for its weight, but not as resistant to the normal 'abuse' a sleeping bag will experience.” 7:45:24 PM 6/20/04
