CD burning software questionView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 11 of 11 messages posted.
“I keep forgetting to ask this....... since my hard drive crash this spring, I no longer have CD burning software (unless XP has something) I have the CD burning hardware. So.... how would that work? Can I just get any software and it will work? Do I need to get software specific to the brand of CD burner it is? Or am I screwed and need to get a new CD burner, complete with its own software? I know with a scanner or camera or printer you obviously need software that comes with the specific product. HELP!!! I really need to burn some disks soon.” 12:51:48 PM 6/20/04 “I usually use REI Storm Proof matches and Crown Camp Fuel white gas. Seems to work fine for me.” 12:55:30 PM 6/20/04 “roxio came on my xp computer. you can download realplayer or windows media player for free and burn with them.” 1:31:40 PM 6/20/04 “The full powered burning sofware like Roxio Easy CD or Nero will work with virtually any burner. Their web sites have frequent updates to include new burners (and OSs) as they come out.” 1:36:18 PM 6/20/04 “I guess I should add that the software bundled with many burners is not usually the full version. I bought an LG burner for my daughters computer. The Roxio CD included may very well only be useable with LG products and has LG right on the label” 1:42:46 PM 6/20/04 “What are you burning? I guess your probably burning data or pics, but if it's just music you can use Windows Media Player.” 1:49:02 PM 6/20/04 Burning Cd's in XP “I don't know what you're burning but if it's data...ie pics, text files, etc. you can do it right in XP. Just put a blank cd in the burner and open up My Computer and double click on whatever drive is your burner. Drag whatever files you want into that window and then click on where it says "Write these file to CD" and it should burn the cd. Note that this will only work for data cd's if you wnat to burn music you'll need other software....prolly the easiest one to use is Roxie's www.roxio.com If you need more help shoot me an email :)” 5:12:55 PM 6/20/04 “(who is UPluver? there's no e-mail listed on the profile) Thanks for the help. Will try it XP style. Mostly I need for backup and for photos.” 7:45:32 PM 6/20/04 Oops “It's there now...sorry bout that” 9:00:37 PM 6/20/04 “I guess you're a new person we need to welcome. Or is it "U Pluver" you!! lol Oh yeah, I tried XP out -- works great!! And to think I was ready to buy software!!!! >8-O” 10:28:17 PM 6/20/04 “Let me know if you need any help burning Madonna CD's.” 1:12:51 AM 6/21/04
