As for my vacation not really sure yet...think I'm gonna spend at least 2-3 days in Sylvania doing some kayaking, not sure about after that..thought about checking out the Trap Hills or I might just head up to Copper Harbor and do some car camping and kayaking.

Hey Dub, I go every weekend and then a few weeks on top of that... you name your time. I may wear a mask though so as to keep my troll status here. It's a fun position to be in. I may change my handle name to Zorro.

Alright. Where do you live in Cali and where do you normally hike? The Sierras? I've never been backpacking anywhere in CA but I'm planning a road trip there next year. I wanna take three weeks and go to Glacier for a 3 day trip, Yellowstone for 5, and then somewhere in CA for a couple days, then back home after a stop at the Grand Canyon.

I live in the Sac-of-tomatoes area, Northern CA. I backpack mostly in the Sierra and on the coast, but I have and hope to continue (Lord willin') backpack extensively in the Rockies, mostly in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. I love big western wilderness. That's be cool if we could hook up. I have no idea where you are, but it sounds like you're not from around here. Are you an "alien"?
Buck

Well, I am from WV so I can be considered alien. I will be driving from Ohio next summer when I come out there. It will be around this time. Maybe you can give me a few photography pointers ;-)

How's it going UPlover? We are starting to rack up the Indiana folks here. Gforce lives in South Bend and a bunch of us live near Chicago just over the border.

Good to have you on board!

From Bored of the Rings (Harvard Lampoon)... One of the gifts given to Frito (Frodo) by Cellophane and Lavalier (Celeborn and Galadriel) was "a plover's egg the size of an emerald".... LOL

Upluver, I didn't get soaked. =) I was snug in Wolfeye's car, full of good out-to-eat breakfast and on my way home when the rain started coming down Sunday. We did the two day version of the loop.

So you kayak too eh? You'll definately have to meet all the other Michigan folks for some hiking and paddling (not at the same time) or maybe even just a night out sometime.
