Meteorologist Does Forecast In Shark Tank

WCAU-TV7:55 a.m. EDT June 24, 2004 - Amy Freeze went Wednesday where no NBC 10 meteorologist has gone before: into a shark tank to do her weather forecast.

Freeze trained for 6 months for her big live dive, which aired on NBC 10 News.

Freeze added more "depth" to her Wednesday afternoon forecast when she appeared live in Camden at the New Jersey State Aquarium.

She was submerged in the large tank equipped with a microphone inside her SCUBA gear.

Freeze talked to shark experts at the aquarium, then spent some time with the sharks before swimming to another part of the tank for her live shots.

During her live broadcast, a shark made a brief cameo appearance behind Freeze's back at the end of her appearance.

I know an Aussie woman who snorkels close to the shore of those Islands a couple of times per year. She said that the attack was in deep water, and she will continue snorkeling in the waters of the Abrolhos Islands.

Sharks don't scare me.

Try wrestling a greasy pork chop away from my ex-wife, now there's a challenge!

Funny, dying in the snow or in my classroom ('For my last tick, kids.) doesn't bother me, but the thought of swimming near sharks gives me the willies in front of my computer.

a 20ft shark needs a lot of food, the water is cold and it's gotta keep it's energy levels up.

Probably needs one of those people things every couple of days

but closer to home, even and electric fence will not stop a bear ...

A black bear apparently climbed through an electric fence that surrounded an outdoor paddock sometime after 11 p.m. on Wednesday night. The bear broke the pony's neck, then dragged the animal about 400 yards to a wooded area.

Sharks
I was scuba diving in the keys a few years ago and came over a 'finger"of coralto surprise two nurse sharks napping on the bottom. What an adrenalin rush. they were both my size. After the first rush or adrenalin I just sat and watched them till they spotted me and swam away.

For those of you who know I am a lawyer, please!!! No cheap shots.

Very unusual that a black bear would kill an animal that big for food (or any animal for that mater).

Black Bears are opportunistic feeders.
They will take down and injured deer, so I am less surprised at the pony than going through an electric fence.

They use electric fences to keep polar bears away from cabins, a polar bear is a much more determined attacker than a black.

Makes me wonder if it was rabid ?

Prolly not rabid. It was alert enough to evade the trap when it came back.

The meaty part.

I'm really scared of sharks and gators....I guess it's their silent killer image....you don't see them or hear them....then BAM, they got you from the bottom. Jaws cutting into ya, and pulling you down as precious air escapes from your nose and mouth. Scary.
