I don't know...I find that RAID 1 is the most reliable because it's a true mirror. It's also the most expensive to implement because you have to provide twice as much hard drive space as you plan on using...

Oh yeah, and with RAID 1, I think both drives have to identical or it won't work...

So if one fails, you can only swap it out with an identical drive, or else you have to set up a new RAID and copy all your information over...

But on the other hand, I'm pretty sure that RAID 1 is the only type of RAID that offers immediate 100% continuity should one of the drives in the RAID fail. In all the other RAIDs, the failed drive has to be replaced and rebuilt before its data can become available again.
