When I joined the military, I don't remember signing away my first amendment rights, but maybe I'm wrong.

The military's funny that way. They tend to take things a bit more seriousely than us civies. Then again, when I ask myself the question, "Would I want that guy going into combat with me after hearing what he said?".

Evidently there has been some talk about Dale Earnhardt being on the outs with Fox and W's boys because he recommended seeing F 9/11.

It appears that filmmaker Michaeol Moore was on to something after all. Newly released government records reveal previously undisclosed flights and a very active role by the FBI in helping Saudis to leave the United States immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"The F.B.I. gave personal airport escorts to two prominent Saudi families who fled the United States, and several other Saudis were allowed to leave the country without first being interviewed," The New York Times reported on Sunday.

The documents were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act suit against the Justice Department by Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group. It provided copies to the Times.

This particular instance was more of the random and evil "they" getting away with something that Tilt can't. I was generalizing since I'm so used to the radical left playing the role of victim. See 90% of MarkO and Tilt's post for more specifics.

Ah they can have their opinions. In looking back at Clinton’s years I do see he wasn’t as bad as I thought at the time. Especially when compared to a potential Kerry term. LOL! I can remember ranting about who killed Ron Brown until I was spitting and slobbering. And who the phuck killed Vince Foster? I still want to know that one. Oops, I’m starting to spit again. Calm down Nigal old boy…easy….

So what Violin?
Michael Moore's movie about Bush secreting Saudis out of the country is the biggest nothing story to come out of this whole sorry mess. You wanna rag on Bush there are at least twenty other good reasons to do it. For starters let me give you a list of about five.
>
The Pentagon's Office of Special Plans and the people who conned us into Iraq.
>
Where are we going to get the money to pay for all this "democracy" we are lovingly spreading around?
>
Cheney's relationship with Haliburton.
>
>Bush's trashing of what relations we had left with our European allies.
>
Bush and Rumsfeld's connection with Abu Garib and what it means to U.S. soldiers if they are captured by Iraqi insurgents.
>
The list could go on and on and somewhere way down at the bottom would be Michael Moore's attempt to paint all Saudis with a black brush. It's an anti-Arab (therefore anti-Semitic) propaganda piece pure and simple.

I don't see what's new about this info. Wasn't it known and agreed that the Saudis were allowed out without interviews? The defense of this was that they were cleared to go on the basis of info already known about them.

Please enlighten me as to what is news here.

To the Editor:

Re "New Details on F.B.I. Aid for Saudis After 9/11" (news article, March 27):

I think it's worth adding that the newly released F.B.I. documents flatly contradict repeated assertions by both the White House and the F.B.I. that the Bush administration played no role in the evacuation of the members of the royal House of Saud in the days immediately after 9/11.

As the author of "House of Bush, House of Saud" and the Vanity Fair article about the Saudi flights that triggered the F.B.I. investigation, I was told by the F.B.I. spokesman, John Iannarelli, "I can say unequivocally that the F.B.I. had no role in facilitating these flights one way or another."

White House officials declined to comment on the record, but privately one told me that he had made repeated inquiries and was "confident" that no such flights had taken place.

However, these new documents show conclusively that the flights not only took place, but also, in the F.B.I.'s own words, that people on them may have been "involved in or had knowledge of the 9/11/2001 attacks." In that context, it is especially disturbing to know that the White House had access to all this information and chose to conceal it.

Ped the news in this is the same as the Clinton sex issue.

It's not the sex or the Saudis being allowed to leave the country that matters. It's that both denied it, lied about it and tried to cover it up.

This is just an attempt by the men who really run this country to take you away from the real story. The game plan is always to put something shiny in front of the crows and watch them go for it. And it just goes to show that the average liberal is just as gullible and naive as the average so-called conservative. Michael Moor did a hack job on 9/11 as he did with the Bowling movie. His true motives are suspect in my book.
