i'm also saying that when he invaded russia it was A-O.K. because russia was being ruled by an evil despot, and it's a perfectly fine thing to do, to pre-emptively invade another country, as long as they're ruled by a dictator.

It makes absolutely no difference whether the torture involves the gassing (and other atrocities) of hundreds of people or if it involves panties on the head and sexual poses (and who knows what else has been going on which is not currently public knowledge).

The motive is the same for both examples, making those that are deemed "the other" a non-human being, stripping another human of their basic of human rights. Frankly, I think this is how the more grotesque forms of torture begin. Once you justify one action - where do you stop after that?

How dare we, a suppossed super-power, stoop so low. And how dare we as citizens of this country stoop even further by somehow justifying these actions by saying to ourselves - "oh, well it's not as bad as Nazi concentration camps".

Well, in her first post she asking if there is any difference between Bush and Hitler. And then as if she could get any more ignorant she stated…

What conclusion am I to draw from this? ‘Absolutely no difference’ were her own words. The thing that blows my mind is she can be so ignorant as to not only connect the actions of some few out of 140,000 to Bush but then draw parallels between Bush and Hitler.”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the average german joe-schmo was unaware of the horrors taking place in the concentration camps - then they were in a state of disbelief and denial. But it happened and they did nothing about it. Let's not make the same mistake.
