Where's everyone backpacking this weeken d?

“Backpacking to and from the laundry shed, then maybe around the house with the vacuum cleaner and the dust rag. Oh, yeah, it'll be fun.”

“Just camped out for three days in the high desert of Nevada at Washoe "Lake" It was really great. Full moon both nights and big raging campfires. Bottles of good wine. Even had smores.

There are perks to car camping, don't ya know!

Deer, coyotes and lots of waterfowl were the animals of choice.”

“I'm going back to the Superior trail; same trail as last weekend, but a different section. My plan is to gradually acclimate myself to March/April weather in the Georgia mountains by camping as far into the Wisconsin/Minnesota winter as I can. I figure if I freeze to death here at least I will have saved money from the drive to Georgia.”

“I'm going to bag Middle and North Tripyramid Mts., and also Whiteface Mountain this weekend. Heading out tomorrow morning, back on Sunday afternoon. Yam loaned me her Betamid. It's the first time I've ever used a tarp. Looking forward to it!

well i am not backpacking (it is ok because i will be gone every weekend in the month of Nov YEAH)
but we are going to the Giants game on Sunday!!”

“Lows will be in the lower 20's and possibly even the teens Saturday night for my trip. I'm packing a semi-winter set-up, which mostly consists of heavier clothing. With that, and 100 oz. of water, my pack weighs 30 lbs. I don't normally go that light in the summer even. Damn you Yam! With her loaning me her tarp, I can feel the lightweight bug starting to bite me, and I have urge to swat at it.”

“Heading up for the game. I sure like watching the Vols, but I hate how it limits me to dayhikes on Sunday if even that for most of the Fall. Good thing I like to backpack in the winter:)”

Decided not to do Boundary Peak since its cross country and got dumped on. Can't get any info.

Another storm expected next week. Mammoth Mountain opened yesterday, with over 4' snow in 4 days. Will probably snowshoe in the area since Calhiker is not a skier. Snowshoes are at the condo, so that's where we'll be. We'll meet up with friends after. Taking Monday off too!

“Very much so. It's pretty wild. Moose and bear are in the area and loons also next on the lake in the summer. It's very "Maine".

Bummer you can't make the Buttkicker Revisited trip in two weeks. There'll be others though.”

“Going to the Catskills to hike the WCS with Pennsy, Phantom Soul, LThiker, Sacco, Stoopid, Mousespray, Twinks and Fels. Should be a good time and it looks like the weather is going to be clear but cold and we can expect to see snow on the trail.

I am backpacking this weekend to harriman.”

“With the recent rain in this area, I thought it would be a good time to get out and visit waterfalls this weekend. I'm taking the family with me and looking forward to a good time. We'll be in the Savage Gulf (TN) area on Saturday, and north AL area on Sunday.”

“Yah this would be a good weekend to get the family to some waterfalls. We already have a ton of stuff planned though.”
