“I'm headed into Humphreys Basin in the eastern Sierra. I want to do some xcountry exploring and climb Pilot Knob to check out the views.

I have space on my permit if anyone is interested.”

“Both those are AWESOME trips! I'm spending the week at Tahoe, family vacation. I'll just do a bunch of day hikes and canoeing and kayaking with all my nephews and nieces... I'm looking forward to it! After that I'm heading into Poineer Basin too, and then after that EVERYWHERE IN THE HIGH SIERRA I CAN FIT IN FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER! YAAAA! Ahem. I'm excited about this summer, okay so?

“9 day backpack with SnowDude: Up Shepherd Pass (6,330' to 12,055'), cross country travel by lakes, peaks and passes, and out the Mountaineer's Route (Whitney Portal). We're planning to climb Mt Barnard (13,990', the ranges highest non-14er), check out Tulainyo Lake (12,818', highest lake in the continental United States), and try again to do Mt Russell (14,086'), before exiting at Whitney Portal (8,360'). Then I'll meet WLD for a dayhike up Mt Whitney (14,497') before driving home. Whoo Hooo!”

Not backpacking though, it's a family weekend. Biking on Thursday, idontknowwhat on Friday, farm camping with the kidlets the next three days, with a belated fourth of July celebration at the lake with lobsters and kayaks on Monday.

No packing this weekend. Alittle bit of kayaking and my goal is to make our reservations on the ferry for the kids' hike next month. So, I'll be thinking about hiking at least.”

“Snownymph - I'm going from Kearsarge Pass to Shepherd Pass in early September. I'm taking side trips into Center Basin, Wright Lakes, and the I'm going to try Tyndall. It'll be nice to see your pictures of the area in advance.”

“WD, We've done Tyndall so we won't be doing it this time, but I'll get pictures so you can see what it looks like now. I just got two 512 memory cards, plus I have three 256 cards, so I should have plenty of pictures. Taking 13 batteries . . . . :-(”

I'm free for 2 weeks, short of mowing my daughters grass, fixing my jeep, fixing my tractor, fixing the wife's tent camper & dropping her off at the airport for another Hawaii trip.”
