Calling all Indiana and neighboring TTer s

“Thinking of heading over to Indiana in the fall sometime.. probably October. I'll be coming with at least one friend. If I bring Friend #1, I will be able to backpacking at least an overnighter. If I bring a different friend, then I will probably just be doing a couple day hikes. Friend #1 is obviously my first choice since she's the only relatively outdoorsy person.

Anyway, I wanted to see who all lives in this area that would be willing to meet up for either a couple day hikes or an overnighter.

It'll probably be Columbus Day weekend,.. whenever those dates are. Haven't looked into it all that much yet.”

The reason I'm picking that date is because it'll be less time I have to take off work since it's a holiday weekend. Plus we'll be staying with DeathMarch99 and he has a long weekend (he's in school) so that's another reason why this date was picked.

“I maybe able to request that weekend off...depends on a lot of things. (Maybe I can work 2 weekends in a row to get that one off) I will try to work something out.”

“The high point of IN is nothing big- 1,257 feet. Its in the middle of some farmers feild surounded by a fence.”

“I was wondering how you were doing. Saw your wife the other night. I'm thinking I'm going to be working downtown in the near future and wanted to ask you about commuting. Do you take the South Shore in every day? (a little thread degeneration)”

“No, I take METRA now. The damn South Shore never runs on time and always breaks down in the winter. I catch METRA at the Harvey station. It is more of a drive, but the train ride is 15 minutes shorter.

Where up here will you be working?”

“Not sure yet. I recently passed my big exam. Now waiting for the Illinois licensure paperwork to be processed. When that is done, I intend to report in Chicago for any agency that will keep me busy. It will likely be in the Loop somewhere. From what I understand, there is plenty of work to be had.”

Your coming to Ithaca, ey?”

“I'm still vascillating on that one. As much as I want to go, my current status for Ithaca is probably no. Jon's deployment date has been moved back to the end of July and he has been given weekends off now. So I'll probably be spending the remaining July weekends with him.”

“I'd definitely be up for either Deam or Knobstone...since I live in IN and have never hiked either of them I'd say it's about time I do :-)”

“UP, I may be planning on a Deam weekend in the near future. I will let you know when.”

“We will prolly have to cache water as I hear it is VERY dry in Knobstone.”
