Short backpack with a summit of Mt Morga n (S), CA

“Did this as a backpack. The hike to Francis Lake was short, but the flower, reflection and sunset photos were awesome! Bagged Mt Morgan (13,748') on Sunday. Great views all around! Fun trip!

“We started just before 7am, and summitted between 10:15 and 10:25. We spent over an hour up there, just couldn't leave! The views were so clear! We were picking out peaks and places we had been, and looking at places for future trips. We left at 11:40, and it started hailing/raining at 1pm. We wanted to avoid the wet boulders so we took a different (high route) back. Calhiker and I both took falls on the slick boulders, but were lucky that we didn't hurt ourselves. Steve was a mountain goat and was always way ahead. Steve got some beautiful shots.
