It's true
In Minnesota there is a town called Fertile and a town called Climax. At some point in the 80s, a woman from Fertile died. The headline read, "Fertile Woman Dies in Climax." We always joked that it could have been "Fertile Woman Dies in Climax Looking for Moorhead."

Moorhead (snicker) State is just across the river from NDSU I see on my map.

Dang, I though Yam was from the South. Another 'damn' yankee!

We drove out for the NCAA Regional, but we didn't know about the date change. We ended up at the NDSU fieldhouse just when a bunch of reporters came in and were interviewing the football and basketball coaches. It was such a bad blizzard they were moving a bunch of games into the Fargo Dome.
Anyway, they heard about our plight and sent the story out on the AP wire and it went EVERYWHERE! it even ended up in Sports Illustrated...
We just got drunk and drove back home through the blizzard the next morning.

MarkO
2:28:28 PM
7/21/04

Duh!
I remember now. The bar was called The Old Broadway. Good place. That's where my fake ID got the most workout.

There was no FU, silly boy. Fargo/Moorhead is a happening college town though with Moorhead State, North Dakota State, and Concordia College. It seems like those three schools are pretty much where the majority of the north and west central MNers and east NDers went to college.

Hey Yam, did you ever go to any of the Owl parties? Remember that fraternity? Those were definitely the best parties. Every year they had their huge annual party somewhere out on some old guy's farm in the middle of nowhere, North Dakota. What a blast!!!

Wow
I didn't know that, Yam. But that doesn't surprise me. I remember hearing some of the stories. Pretty wild.

MarkO, I don't see Campbell in my Atlas. Was that your hometown?
Ruby

MY hometown is Washington, D.C.

I'm a cross between Squarehead and Hillbilly.

It looks like Campbell is on a line between Fergus Falls, Minn and the point at which the BIG three states meet.

15 miles SW of Fergus Falls and 10 miles NE of the tri-state point.

I've never been there and mom grew up in Chicago.
