Why Did I Cut My Hair? I look like a Squ irrel!

the lady who cuts my hair got scissor happy and cut my hair more than a trim. My hair is naturally curly and when ya cut it short.... it is even worse. Its not that short, but WOW! I feel like Medusa the Blonde Gorgon. Long blonde snakes for hair. Kenny wanted to know if I'd gotten a perm. :-(
I told him NO! It was just the meanness coming out in me.

I've got a thick thick head of hair. Enough for several people. Exceedingly thick and each strand baby fine and wildly curly.
One day I had straightened it and went hiking and got rained on. My buddy behind me said "Dana. I can stand here and watch her your hair curling up. It looks like long blonde snakes." And it truly did when we got done that day.
Linda, my Mom, and my cosmetology student daughter.... have been trying for a year now to get me to just quit fighting it and let it be curly.

It never really bothered me too much but at one time I really wanted long hair and my theory was that the weight of it would straighten it all out when it got long enough.

My hair is very wavey and impossible after a couple of days in the woods.
Tuesday after work I went to the local hair place and told the lady to give me a buzz cut. She made me swear no wife or girlfriend would cuss her out later. Not joking, she really did!

I did have her leave some lenght to it this time, at least 1/2 inch.”

I do like what I am. I might as well. I can't do much to change it. ;-) I'm only playing around. Its better to make fun of myself cause if I don't..... someone will do it for me.

I have to laugh at the Gorgon hair and too white eyebrows. In Summer.... my eyebrows get so blonde they are almost invisible.

Dana, I have thick naturally curly hair as well, but it doesn't sound as tightly curled as yours. I got about 5 inches cut off in March and another 5 inches or so taken off 2 weeks ago. It's shorter than it's been since high school and it's super curly now, but a lot lighter and easier to comb out and take care of... And, I figured I lost about a pound or so, so now it's an ultralight haircut!”

“Due to the outlandish amount of money it costs to get a few inches off of your hair, this morning I attempted to give myself a haircut. Bad idea.

I thought at first I would just give myself a healthy trim. 1/2 inch. The more I tried to even the sides up, the more I ended up cutting off. So, I ended up with hair about 3 inches shorter in front, 1 in the back, and lots and lots o layers. Should I become a barber? Hell no. Thank God my hair grows fast.

“I don't like to spend the money, but also it never seems to come out like I want. So I cut it myself or talk someone else into doing it sometimes...and one of those times was Saturday night after a few glasses of wine...

Only cut wet hair, cause you can really mess it up when it's dry...
If I think I've messed the back up really bad, I wet it and flip it all forward, then snip at the uneven edges...
My hair is thick so it's easy to cover the boo-boos...
Plus it grows fast!
(definately a plus if you're into cutting your own hair, LOL)

And for a few days after, I snip at the stragglers when I get out of the shower...”
