Thanks and we'll see you all there!” 1:21:41 PM 7/22/04 “Last year they rented all 100 sites from the 3 nearest campgrounds...I don't know what we'd do if we had over 100.” 1:41:37 PM 7/22/04 “Be real friendly and double up,I imagine.” 1:49:48 PM 7/22/04 Tc4 Attendance “Who do we contact to "reserve" a site, or do we just call a campsite around the Park and work it out that way? By the sounds of it, it gets pretty full quickly.” 12:59:38 PM 7/23/04 “There is no need to pull a permit to camp in the park at Martin's Fork. Our group permit will cover all attendees.” 1:23:12 PM 7/23/04 “I know that HPM is getting the two supporting websites pretty close to release. I think(?) they will contact some additional information for campsites on FRIDAY. As Chili36 stated, the permit for Saturday will handle all attendees for anyone camping at Martins Fork.” 2:11:32 PM 7/23/04 Good “'Cause I invited everybody!” 2:50:50 PM 7/25/04 If It Were Only Closer... “It'd be a 540 mile drive for me.” 3:07:37 PM 7/25/04 “OK, so Saturday night is at Martin's Fork. I'm still interested in Hensley. Is there any place to camp at Hensley? And so Friday night would make sense there, or what?” 3:09:46 PM 7/25/04 “buddur, what's your point? never traveled 540 miles for a good time?” 3:15:38 PM 7/25/04 “Buddur, it's a 6-hour drive to my ride, if I go... then another 7-8 hours to get there. C'mon bro!! lol” 3:17:09 PM 7/25/04 Hensley “lizs - Hensley is a Horse Camp, according to an Official Map and Guide of Cumberland Gap(Repreint 1992). Between Hensley and Martins Fork another campsite is shown, Chadwell Gap.” 3:51:09 PM 7/25/04 “Just a hop and a skip.” 3:58:36 PM 7/25/04 “it's a long way for me as well, but i'm gonna try my damndest to make it!” 4:37:32 PM 7/25/04 “It's TC4 or bust for me, heck howelse am I gonna get ya'll to talk me. :o)” 7:32:25 PM 7/25/04 “Hey......we can carpool!!!” 7:36:40 PM 7/25/04 “Hey thats right, you do live in my neck of the woods....” 7:40:37 PM 7/25/04 “where you at???” 7:42:12 PM 7/25/04 “Sheffield!!” 7:43:22 PM 7/25/04 “Hartselle here....where is Sheffield?” 7:44:38 PM 7/25/04 “Lol, I new you were gonna ask that...I’m right in between by Florence, Muscle Shoals..” 7:47:16 PM 7/25/04 “I always like to ask this, cuz I'm still not quite sure.... what are "shoals?" Can you give me the Midwestern equivalent, if there is one? LOL” 7:50:53 PM 7/25/04 “LOl.oh yes........now I remember.....senior moment......” 7:51:23 PM 7/25/04 “lizs, i dont think anybody really knows, if anyone does I'd like to know to.......” 7:55:38 PM 7/25/04 “Lol...divinity, were only about an hour apart. This could have potential” 7:58:43 PM 7/25/04 “I thought shoals had something to do with rocky stream beds??” 8:07:42 PM 7/25/04 “OMG...where is BIT...the SMARTEST man in TT????” 8:08:44 PM 7/25/04 Lynyrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd Skynyrrrrrrrrrrrd “A shoal is a shallow area of an ocean or bay that is nearshore, and lots of sea critters, such as muscles, are found living on them.” 8:17:30 PM 7/25/04 That's right “The shoals used to be a very dangerous place on the Tenn. River. At least till they built Wilson Dam. Now the shallows are below the dam, great smallmouth fishin'. And Skynyrd did its first recordings there, remember the Swampers?? in "Sweet Home Alabama".” 8:27:24 PM 7/25/04 “Sooooooooooooo... it's the equivalent of... "rocky area," "shallow area," "shallows" or "riffles?" "Shut-ins" is another weird one, thank you Missouri!” 8:37:45 PM 7/25/04 liz “Hey stranger, hope to see ya at TC4. IF you are not competting in the cookoff you can arrrange the shuttle to Hensley and take the short hike down the mtn. to Matrtin's Fork. Chadwell Gap campsite is right between the two. It is too close to use unless you really want a very short hike in on Sat. The ride to Hensley is long but well worth it. But if you are going to compete, just take the 7.5 mile hike in with the most of us. We will still stay for the BBQ and get together on Friday night, then leave for the trailhead early Sat morn.” 8:40:44 PM 7/25/04 “Karo.....don't forget your poles this year.......LOL...any word about where we are camping Friday????...I hate it about Barb :( and her store :(” 8:43:36 PM 7/25/04 “Yeah I don't plan on taking that tent, then again I should bring it in case there are no trees around to hang my hammock. I will not forget the poles or pole lik I did last year. I think TD said the gap has a place planned for us to stay on Fri. night, I forgot already. maybe TD or smokeygirl will see this and respond.” 8:47:24 PM 7/25/04 “karo, ME, cook?!?!? No one wants to see that!!!! LOL! (and certainly not taste it!! EEEEK!) chili said someone took their own 4WD up the road that shuttle goes up. And said it was awful. I need to check with that person to see just how awful it was!! Course, I'm getting a ride to Cumberland anyway, it would appear... well, we could always take the Jeep. LOL! I'm gonna try to make this a "must" trip. Will be good to see you again, too! :-)” 8:48:51 PM 7/25/04 “Smokygirl or CGhiker will have to answer that one. I've been outta that loop, Karo. Chili36 may know, also.” 8:51:06 PM 7/25/04 “they should just allow us to camp there at the town park......there are bathrooms and everything.....” 8:52:48 PM 7/25/04 “or we could all go stay at the hotels...LOL..hahahahaha” 8:54:39 PM 7/25/04 “I believe Chili36 and his family stayed in the Ramada Inn on Friday night. It did rain some that night. Ramada Inn Cumberland Gap, Tn Click for information. 9:11:20 PM 7/25/04 “Bobo, you going on this? We should carpool since u live .4 miles from me.” 9:12:43 PM 7/25/04 “I believe Match took the 4WD road that goes up the other side (from Kentucky, I'm thinking). The Shuttle goes up a road from the Tennesee side that's in much better shape... but it's not for public use.” 9:21:51 PM 7/25/04 “Tilt: Both True Statements.” 9:52:56 PM 7/25/04 “Yup, I sure would like to go!” 9:58:09 PM 7/25/04 Hey Bobo, Scorch... “Got room for a stray Phantom? I'm thinking about getting in on TC4 -- and if you two live within .4 miles of each other, then both of you live within 1/2 hour of me, and along the way to TN. Perhaps all 3 of us should carpool?” 10:24:26 PM 7/25/04 “See? I didn't murder all my braincells back in the 70s!” 11:26:49 PM 7/25/04 “PS, sure! When the time gets closer, I'll give u directions to my house. If the BOBO head decides he's coming we can all carpool together, if not, we can ride down togetha. Aiight, homes?” 11:30:46 PM 7/25/04 “Great to see you have braincells yet, Tilt. ;-) also glad you and TD clarified that. I had the idea the shuttle went up to Hensley from KY. Thanks!! Now where do I find Match to hear how bad it REALLY was??? LOL!” 12:21:58 AM 7/26/04 “match is in germany this year...so he's not gonna make it, and i doubt his boys will make it either...they were great cooks, and fun guys...they'll be missed” 1:59:48 AM 7/26/04 “Sometimes I'm amazed I still have two neurons to rub together, LOL” 5:23:17 AM 7/26/04 “tiltypoopoohead” 6:26:22 AM 7/26/04 “lizs - The shuttle, on which I rode, did go on the Kentucky side. Unless there is more than one shuttle, then Tilt needs to recharge those neurons. Actually, it does not matter. The shuttle will get you close to the action. I imagine that as the date approaches, there will be a sign-up list for reservations.” 6:41:06 AM 7/26/04 Jump to Page |  1 | 2
