“Last year they rented all 100 sites from the 3 nearest campgrounds...I don't know what we'd do if we had over 100.”

As Chili36 stated, the permit for Saturday will handle all attendees for anyone camping at Martins Fork.”

“The shoals used to be a very dangerous place on the Tenn. River. At least till they built Wilson Dam. Now the shallows are below the dam, great smallmouth fishin'. And Skynyrd did its first recordings there, remember the Swampers?? in "Sweet Home Alabama".”

“Hey stranger, hope to see ya at TC4. IF you are not competting in the cookoff you can arrrange the shuttle to Hensley and take the short hike down the mtn. to Matrtin's Fork. Chadwell Gap campsite is right between the two. It is too close to use unless you really want a very short hike in on Sat. The ride to Hensley is long but well worth it. But if you are going to compete, just take the 7.5 mile hike in with the most of us. We will still stay for the BBQ and get together on Friday night, then leave for the trailhead early Sat morn.”

chili said someone took their own 4WD up the road that shuttle goes up. And said it was awful. I need to check with that person to see just how awful it was!! Course, I'm getting a ride to Cumberland anyway, it would appear... well, we could always take the Jeep. LOL!

“I believe Match took the 4WD road that goes up the other side (from Kentucky, I'm thinking). The Shuttle goes up a road from the Tennesee side that's in much better shape... but it's not for public use.”

“lizs - The shuttle, on which I rode, did go on the Kentucky side. Unless there is more than one shuttle, then Tilt needs to recharge those neurons.

Actually, it does not matter. The shuttle will get you close to the action. I imagine that as the date approaches, there will be a sign-up list for reservations.”
