I'm camping where the majority is camping...so I'll just drive aimlessly through town like last time until I find everyone.

ok the camping is in Cumberland Gap and I thought I made that clear I am sure I did....
But when you check in you will be directed to the camping area. If you get in late it is in the middle of town next to Post Office. Look for other tents. It is not down next to the railroad tracks this year.
Thanks

I truely think y'all have a misconception about TC4.....I have heard stories about TC2.....and TC3 was nothing like it...it was a GREAT trip.....there were kids there....everyone behaved.....I just get the impression y'all think it will be a big drunken party.....

I hate having to pre-commit to the shuttle. Right now I think I might be coming down with a cold. So I might be miserable come TC4... or at least winded and not wanting to climb up the mt, which I guess is the plan now.

Am I supposed to sign up and spend whatever for the shuttle now? And lose the money if I don't ride it? OR... what are the odds of getting a trip in the shuttle if you don't pre-sign up? I can understand that those who signed up should have priority, but is there a chance to get on if it's not full? And do shuttles run up to Hensley other than the one that's "committed" to folks going to the cookoff.

I am definitely not happy about the runny nose I have this a.m.!! And I'm feeling hot, then cold. Damn it! My co-worker is sick-sick. I knew that was trouble!!

Just put in for the shuttle you don't pay until Saturday. I talked to the park and we do need number of people by Tuesday but we may have spots left on Friday night. We are working with the shuttle service to make sure everyone thats wants to go up will get to. Also when you register you can tell us if you are staying in the park longer to backpack just need to have your name and sites you plan to be at and the dates.

TC3 was nothing like TC2.

Yes, it is a crowd, but just think of this as a TT convention. Be there or be square.

Shuttle
I'm riding the shuttle up to Hensley on Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon....Gonna set up and read/sleep, so I'll be fresh on Saturday night when the party REALLY cranks up...lol.

I missed last year so I have a question, how's the firewood situation...do we all need to scavenge for wood or what? (Don't want to miss the firewalking event ya know what I mean?) ;-)

Lizs is right though, Matt. Since I posted the cookoff on the /trips page, the website treats my "exit after posting" by taking me to the trips signup page.

I do like how you linked the trips page to the threads though. That really is a great improvement. Now if I am looking for a trip, it's easy to stop the threads without going to the trips page first.

ST, there was a moderate amount of firewood available last year. I wouldn't think we will have much problem scavaging enough for a nice fire.

I can try -- does this help?

We are at the tri-state boarder of TN, KY, & VA.
For mapquest directions you can use the address of 514 Pennlyn Avenue, Cumberland Gap, TN 37724 (Berkau Park is next to this house) or use the intersection of Brooklyn Street and Pennlyn Avenue.

*Please note 25E does not mean 25 East, 25E is the name of the road*

From Lexington, KY:
75S to 25E Corbin Exit (look for big red tunnel exit signs) turn left off of the ramp. Follow for about an hour. You will go through the Barbourville, Pineville, & Middlesboro. Once you go through the 1 mile long tunnel, take the first exit RT. 58, Cumberland Gap, TN & Jonesville, VA. Immediately off the exit/entrance ramp look for a BP Station and a Ramada Inn on your left – take that left. This will wind you down into the Town of Cumberland Gap. At the second stop sign turn left – Berkau Park will be on your immediate right.

From Knoxville, TN:
RT 33N becomes 25E in Tazewell, follow to exit RT. 58, Cumberland Gap, TN & Jonesville, VA. (If you go through the tunnel you have gone too far.) Immediately off the exit/entrance ramp look for a BP Station and a Ramada Inn on your left – take that left. This will wind you down into the Town of Cumberland Gap. At the second stop sign turn left – Berkau Park will be on your immediate right.

From Nashville, TN:
RT 40E to 640N or E to the Broadway exit at second light turn left (this is also RT 33N). RT. 33N becomes RT 25E in Tazewell, follow to exit RT.

From Bristol, TN:
81S to 25E (in Tazewell, TN you will need to turn right at the stop light to continue on 25E) follow to exit RT.

From Ashville, NC:
RT. 40W to 81N to *look for big red tunnel signs* 25E Morristown (in Tazewell, TN you will need to turn right at the stop light to continue on 25E) follow to exit RT.

From Jonesville, VA:
RT 58W look for Historic Town of Cumberland Gap signs. There are 2 entrances on the right into the town, take the second entrance at the BP Station and the Ramada Inn. This will wind you down into the Town of Cumberland Gap. At the second stop sign turn left – Berkau Park will be on your immediate right.

I just found some info on Wilderness Road Shuttles/Tours. Is this a different shuttle service from what the National Park Service offers? Sounds like they offer three shuttles a day, plus one-ways IF there's space.

So Wilderness Road shuttles run at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Morning one has most room. Barb, are these the ones you're using, or are you setting up a special one at a different time just for the TT group?

Oh, and I found out that Wilderness Road WILL let you take dogs in their shuttle "if properly handled." That just might be a lifesaver to someone, Opie. :-P

Do you mean at this site, which is given as a link on the trip page?

www.titaniumchef.com.

It leads to: "No web site is configured at this address."

Without the trailing period it works fine. However, prior to that link the site address is mentioned with an underline, but it is not a link. And there are a number of things underlined there on the trip page that are not links. This is one reason I use a different color for links.

The Heritage Trails Festival pages, to which I believe you are referring, are beautiful and informative.

BTW, this is just an observation. I'm sorry I didn't notice it long ago.
