“get on 11W and take 25E. The park is actually on 25E and you'd be going the long way around to grab it from 75.”

Divinity, this is what they suggest from Knowxville. This is the way most people from C. Gap go when they head to K'ville.

Take I-75 North to Knoxville, TN. In Knoxville, take the I-640 East/I-75 North exit, exit number 385, towards Lexington.

After 2.9 miles, take I-640 East towards Asheville.

After 2.7 miles, take the US-441/Broadway exit, exit number 6. Turn left onto Broadway (be careful not to take the very first left off the exit, which is "Old Broadway", but the second left which is Broadway.)

Broadway becomes highway TN-33. After about 40 miles, Broadway will reach Tazewell, TN.

In Tazewell, stay straight and TN-33 will become US-25E.

Stay on US 25E, and go approximately 13 miles to Harrogate, TN.”

“Div, If you want youcan also take the route we took last year. The truck drivers and a friend whose family lives there recommended this route. Go North on I-75 towards Lexington. Take Exit 134 in Caryville, Hwy 25-W. This leads to Hwy 63 towards Harrogate, where the Scottish Festival was taking place last year. (I saw you looking at those fellers in their kilts!) At Harrogate turn left, north on 25-E to Cumberland Gap. Remember to take the Cumberland Gap exit before you enter the tunnel or you'll have to turn around. If you have time stop by and visit me on your way there.”

Are they any other worthwhile trails into Martins Fork besides going through Ewing or taking the Ridge Trail from Pinnacle?”

“I know you addressed it to Barb, but my understand talking to her is that ALL of the trails are really nice. She said it would take a full three days to fully explore the park.”

“TD, I was just looking at the map and wondered if there was a different way to get to Martin's Fork besides through Civic. The trail map shows some others like Shillalah Creek Trail. Is that what the shuttle drives down?”

“yes Matt that is just the drive up road. I have walked up it but I suggest the Sugar Run Trail. I don't know how great it is to leave a car there but that is a beauty of a trail. Gibson Gap trail is very nice also, but the last up is a grunt. To do this one park at the area just before entering the campground. If you need a lift to Sugar Run Trail head give me a call and I'll get ya there. I'll email my phone number.

“Well, the forecast is getting better...windy and cold but the rain chances are fading away. BusyBee and I will be there Friday at CG to do some geocaching, and then at the BBQ dinner that night. We're spending the night a few miles down the road at a Best Western on Friday night. Saturday we'll take the shuttle to Hensley and then hike to MF. Looking forward to seeing everyone!”
