The couple in first is strong. All they do is win. They're even keel and capable.

The wrestlers just crack me up. I'd have hated to tell him he miscounted for the 30th time.

The older couple is sweet. They are a good example of what it takes to stay that long. Respect, love, and teamwork. They have botched the teamwork a bit though. I was surprised he begged because they were old though. Poor form.”

I cried for the poor girl--8 hours of pushing hay bales-- I cannot believe she didn't find the marker!!!

It was kind of mean for them to let her continue on for 2 more hours when they were just going to eliminate her! I'm guessing she went home and had a long hot bubble bath and couldn't move for days afterwards...

That Jonathan guy REALLY has to go-- Victoria needs to kick him (in the balls) and to the curb-- he is such an ass that Thinkbubelz thought it was funny that even the GUYS were annoyed with him!

The older couple IS sweet--although I think that they should have just switched to the other task after being so frustrated-- I wonder what they were doing wrong-- were they supposed to count each pan or did they just screw up in their addition?

The wrestler (Bolo?) was pretty funny--at one point he's counting... 67, 68.... 80, 81... no wonder he got botched up!!!

Thinkbubelz and I looked at the tasks-- there is no way we'd do the counting task-- far easier to assemble the desk than to get off track counting-- especially since the people couldn't tell them what they were doing wrong!!

but it was cool to see that they built in some equalizers (i.e. the train station opening, and the Ikea store as well.)--it wouldn't be much fun if 1 group was 3 days ahead of the others!

“While a lot of the teams argue amongst themselves, they seem to be really nice to other teams.

I shed some tears for the sisters too. Heartbreaking. Such nice girls too. Plus since I was playing my drinking game I was quite tipsy. I almost ran out of wine!”

Thinkbubelz & I couldn't believe that Hayden and Aaron blew their lead by sleeping in with the 2 groups--It seems to me that the most logical thing when waking up would have been to go to the tower and wait for the doors to open!

I'm glad that the old couple didn't get eliminated this round, though... The poor guy had to endure the seasickness and then watch helplessly as his wife did the salt harvesting thing...

For me, if we were subjected to those 2 tasks, I would have taken the task of laying the fish on the table-- I know myself enough to know that being on a boat on the ocean would NOT be a wise thing to do (especially since you don't have the luxury of taking an anti-seasickness pill and waiting 45 minutes before getting onto the boat!)

I did think it was funny that "hell boy" was crabbing so much about lugging the salt.... Seems like only the wrestler lady learned from the natives in balancing the basket on her head, rather than exhausting her arms lugging the salt (with the water resistance) back to shore!”

“I felt sorry for Hell Boy. His ex girlfriend said some really horrible things to him.

I agree, I don't understand why the older couple and the dad and daughter keep choosing the bad tasks. It takes forever to catch 4 fish on a line. Stacking fish is so much easier.”

“The bad thing about this round is that there aren't exactly many places to panhandle for money for the older couple. I recall an episode last time where they're panhandling in a tourist hotel in Cairo. It'll be a bit different this time around.

The tasks are always funny to me. The random type tasks pretty much always get you in trouble.

“The couple where the chick looks sort of like Britany Spears seems to be the team to beat. I thought it was funny when her bf was going on and on about her getting wet in the salt part of the challenge. The local villagers didn't seem to mind.”

“Actually last season, the mom's had to beg at the temples in Luxor. (Cairo is 300 miles away, where the pyramids are.) It's a very very busy place with maybe 50 tour buses at a time. (I was there in 2001.) Very easy to bum money from people.
I agree, this couple is going to have a horrible time. But Phil did say it was a big tourist spot. Maybe there is more than what they are showing.”

Well, the rose ceremony in the slave building in Africa was extremely touching (Hera's dad took it extremely hard--it made me want to cry, too).

Thinkbubelz & I've come to the conclusion that their airfares must be pre-paid-- otherwise, the older couple never would have left the African continent....

I missed most of the beginning. Charlie Brown was on before this and we watched it with the kids. That left little time for an abbreviated bedtime routine. I stuck my head downstairs a time or two and saw a brief part of the slave tunnel. That had to be very powerful.

That beer looked good.

It was funny when the old lady said 7" is BIG and her husband grinned.

Jonathon is just a prick. I kept waiting on the host to actually say something. It appeared that he wanted to say a good bit more than, "Jon, go check on Victoria." My wife goes, "Dr. Phil would ask her why she enables him to do that to her." She's right. If I talked to her that way, I'd have a knot on my noggin and see her ass walking away. I can't imagine talking to anyone the way he talks to her, yet he talks to the person he's supposed to love more than anyone that way?

I thought the exchange between the older couple at the end was sweet. Afterward I made a comment to my wife. She goes, "No, you cannot ditto that. Don't even try." Pretty funny.

The steroids comments were pretty funny.

“I was enjoying the show, until Jonathan hit her. If the network doesn't somehow address this in the next episode, I am not going to watch any more. Bickering is one thing - verbal and physical abuse are another. Assaulting someone is wrong and illegal. At the very least, there should be a rule that you cannot physically attack anyone in the game, including your partner. If you break the rule, you are either out of the game or put in last place.

My friend thinks that he should be docked time off for leaving his pack behind as well. She was in such agony and trying so hard, when she picked up his pack--If I were to see him somewhere, I'd give him a major Ass whoopin'.... The guy is out of control-- and his verbally (and now physically) abusive nature is NOT okay.

I wonder if there's a place to email the network and ask them to address his malicious behavior?! Even though I understand that the host's role isn't as a counselor, I think he should have said more... But then again, maybe he was afraid Johnathan would hit him...

You know, many abusers think that by "apologising" and saying "I'm sorry", they can heal the inner wounds... But to me, if you're verbally abusive, that could leave a lot more emotional scars than physical abuse...”

“One thing to remember is that this was filmed 6 months to a year ago. Email might help future segments though. They are filming next season now, or might have even finished.
