"I don't really understand whats so wrong with it...as long as the work gets done. Right?......"

Ah, no. IMHO, it's trouble waiting to happen. Maybe if your on your way out any ways, but never get involved with people from work on that level.

Makes for very uncomfortable situations.

"Fellow worker, div, or employee of said supervisor?

And to be honest (since this thread went elsewhere ;) )

I really wanted the other candidate for professional reasons."

Laqtis, I am choosing to avoid it, but I have known some very happy couples to meet in the workplace.

Never get your Honey...where you get your money.....-Divinity

Good advice....I have to tell some of my friends that. Some of my friends have dated co-workers...some are still together...some have broken off...luckily none of them had a big blow up.

Since I am working in the Maintenance Dept with a bunch of men, and one lesbian, I made it very clear I don't date co workers......they treat me like one of the guys about 75% and a girl 25% of the time..it's nice....no pressure

And to get this off my chest -

the candidate we picked did her year long college research project on a protein which was described on her resume in acronym form. She couldn't tell me what the acronym stood for!

She didn't know what she researched!?

WTF? IMO, she's damn lucky she got the job!

100% concur. I was a bartender in college for a little while, I still say its the BEST job I ever had. If it paid just a little bit better and offered just a few benefits, I'd likely still be doing it!

I have been a bartender at our local church beer garden every year for the past 10 years.

One year I had a chick stumble up at the end of the night and ask for a beer. I poured one and brought it back to her. As she started to lean over the bar, she said she ran out of tickets, but could pay with cash.

It took me a second, but I finally saw the 5 dollar bill sticking out of the the top of her rack.
