It's just a question. Not a big deal. Freakingnews looks as if they cloned the contest functionality of worth1000.

I gotta agree, the similarities are well they aren't similar the two sites are identicle. Maybe freakingnews.com has a little more news-oriented entries, but what they consider as news runs a pretty wide gamut.

Anyway, thank you for directing me to the other site. But I better get back to work!

It is a cool program once you get the hang of it Ewker. My good friend/co-worker is a Graphic Artist and teaches PS at the local JC. He has been a big help in my learning PS!

I used to work with painter, it got sold from um...can't remember the company to macromedia I think...didn't stay there long, and went to corel. it's not bad, but photoshop is exactally what I need. I work with photoshop for years now.

It does have a learning curve thou...especially if you are not used to work with layers, etc....

If you want to use it for only editing photos...shoot...I think elements is good enough, so as any other cheaper program.

Elements is all most folks need. Honestly even if you do work in the design field you will probably only use half of the PS toolset. PS can get super deep if you want it to.

I do know with the new Elements 3.0 you can now work with your pics in the RAW format

I've been thinking about buying Elements 3.0 but ya know, I just don't trust anything with a .0 behind it.

What's a good price for this?
Dang thing is about $100 local.

Let me put it this way....

I had warez versions of Photoshop 7 and CS, along with Jasc Paintshop Pro 8 and 9. All of them full working programs, I bought Adobe Elements 3.0.

I've have been very happy with it. If you shop around you can get it in the $75.00 range.

Elements was the easiest to use, gave the most consistent "auto fix" settings and gives virtually every option you could ask for, including RAW format. Elements also has a great photo Organizer.

Elements 3.0 did come out with a small patch, 3.0.1, it changes a couple things in the photo organizer to make it even easier to use. Paintshop 8 and 9 had rather large, major updates shortly after being released. Adobe CS issued a major security update a couple weeks ago and has a whole page of updates for the rest of the program, many of them for RAW mode. Photoshop 7 had rather extensive updates as well.

SS, look at my 1st post. You can do a 21 day online class for 20.00. You have 60 days to complete it. I am sure you can fit that into your schedule. I would think that would be money well spent.
Also check ebay for Elements 3.0

I hate online classes.
Rairly are they anything I can't pick up by reading the manual or help files.

eBay might be worth looking into.

You play with the programs until you finally learn something. Been "playing" with Photoshop since 2000. Still don't know it all, but know quite a few things.

Ummm... and anyone want to help me with the newest version of PS, I'd certainly welcome such help! :-) ;-) My PS 5 or whatever I have is waaay clunky.

MS Paint has everything you need if you're really patient.

Here's one of my creations. Enjoy.

MS Paint gives you that creative freedom that we artists crave so very much.

Note the realism. Realism is my favorite style, but occassionally I switch to pointillism.

As painter smurf used to say, ~bad fake French accent~ "A masterpaysa"~/bad fake French accent~

MS Paint has everything you need if you are really patient and don't have high expectations of your software.
lol.

PS is simply the best pixel pusher on the market but most folks don't need half of the features.

I don't know why I'm surprised researchers are doing this. Guess I'm an optimist, that people will tell the truth.
