PUI Trip report

“yeah, this is the first posting drunk for me.

It's 2am and I just bushwacked (drove) through some serious DC ghetto to get home. Here I am safe and sound, eyes barely open.

Y2, Bison and I met up at 8 lastnight hoping to peakbag capital hill. Tom Ridge raised the terror alert recently as you know so we weren't able to summit. Instead we made our down Pennsylvania Trail SE to a gap call Hawk and Dove where we quickly found a table. After a round of beers we started on pitchers of yuengling. Bear Magnet then showed up and we decided not to hike any further since we were enjoying the pitchers. Besides, Bison was falling in love with the scenery. And who could blame him. The scenery was good. So we ordered up another pitcher for the hell of it. Then to our surprise, MarkO showed up. So more pitchers. We were all feeling good and the company was great. The view became socked in so to speak so we decided to go up trail a tad to the Capital Grill ( I think that is what it's called) which is a false summit. We were all pleasantly surpised at the low cost of our bill at Hawk and Dove. Less than $30 and I know that I was feeling pretty good. So up trail we went. Not a steep climb. So we all ordered a beer. I drank a Yuengling and then had Bass Ale on tap. It was good. The beer was catching up to me. Needed something solid. I ordered a BLT. Everyone else ordered Cheeseburgers (blue cheese). yeah. I'm not sure what BM ordered. IT was a sandwhich. This much I can tell you. Well. Time passed by quicker than I don't know what. It was past eleven. Bison hit the road. The rest of us stayed behind and talked for another hour or so. Some of us had more beer still. It was a good night. The scenery was great. I think we hiked 0 miles and had no elevation gain what so ever. I forgot to take pictures. This was fun. Let's do it again.”

Man did I have to pee when I got home, I barely made it. I guess the rest of y'all stayed out quite a bit later.”

“I got home about 2:30 in the AM and was unconcious by 2:45.

Too freakin' bad I had to get up at 5:30.
