It would make sense. California has much closer ties to Mexican culture than New York.”

“There's a place here that's really authentic. They even serve posole and menudo and stuff like that. Of course it is delicious. Of course my wife and kids prefer the more Americanized place a couple of miles from our house.

None of those places are near me. The closest REI is in Connecticut and is about 250 miles away.

However, at all the restaurants I've been too they always have all Mexican workers and a couple managers that speak both English and Spanish fluently.
That doesn’t necessarily make it real Mexican food. There are hundreds of Chinese restaurants in my area run by Chinese people and maybe one of them has a real (Non-Americanized) menu.

Not that any of this really matters.
