yeah...babes with packs !!

Took my gal on her first real hike, and camping experience in June. We did the Keet Seel trip in AZ and she did me proud. Hardly got light headed at all I tell you! ;)
17 miles with a full pack(over 28 hours)
thru the desert is pretty good for a first-timer in my book. She even beat me back out of the canyon. I might keep her.

I've never had the fortune to date a woman who backpacked.

So I truely don't know how well they rock.

Well, just rember that while many of us lady hikers look good in a pack, we are known for getting filthy, dirty, and having belching contests around the campfire...and telling locker room stories that make guys blush..lol!!!
In my group, we have like 30-40 female hikers, most between 20 and 45. :-D

Backpacking rocks! But too many chicks/girls/women read too much Cosmo and watch too much E! Blech.

You're right, Sarbar!

But having said that, it's still fun to put the makeup and heels on and have a night out on the town.

The first one is the Eagle Creek Trail on the OR side of the Columbia River. It is a trail carved into the canyon. Moss, water and a ton of waterfalls. It was very tranquil!
Pic 2 is on Ebey's Bluff on Whidbey Island (I lived there for about 12 years). It is at the edge of the San Juan chain in WA.

One of me! This is one of my favorite shots :-D It's of me snowshoeing this past winter up near Mt. Rainier.

Another good pic, Sarbar. Hmmmm, snowshoeing.... A good friend of mine used to own a ski/snowshoe/mountain bike shop in Crested Butte. He sent me a pair of snowshoes. Can't wait to use them this winter.

That reminds me, I just bought a couple bags for my sons tonight. Luke got the North Face Tigger. Isn't that what you have for your son?
Ruby

Yep!
Ford loves his NF Tigger. I picked mine up last fall when a local REI closed, and I got it for $35!! He has used it about 20 times, and has been cleaned twice with no wear or tear. I got lucky and got the 2003 model which has Polarguard 3D filling.

Yes, we women backpackers rock!
I have a male friend who says he's a sucker for women in tevas.

Sabar, great pics! Glad to see you take your daughter outdoors. I'm such a different person than I was when my kids were young. Didn't take them bp'g or hiking then. Today would be a much different story. Wish I lived closer to you! I'm in Stockton, Ca. Do you know ladyhiker03? She's from Coos Bay OR.

Oh yeah, you guy bp'ers rock too! :-o
I'm one of those gals if you saw me in my suit at work, would never think that my passion is backpacking. That's what I have to remember when I see a guy in a suit. I'd look at him and say..hum..he's cute but he doesn't look like the bp'g type...but then again, neither do I.

wingding, glad you found someone! He's not into backpacking? Introduce him to it! If he likes you, he must know that you're passion is bp'g, right? We missed you in the sierras last month!

ruby and rox, you gals rock!

I'm wearing Tevas right now :-)
Hikerchick, I do the same thing when I work. I wear a suit and I'm sure I don't look anything like a bper. I work with other professionals also in their power suits. Often when we start chatting while we wait for a deposition to start, we talk about our hobbies. Have yet to meet one attorney who is interested in backpacking or hiking or camping. They are more interested in their golf game and the country club.
