New here
Hi everyone, I just signed up on this site and wanted to introduce myself to the community.

I'm in my mid-thirty-somethings and live in Oregon. I'm married to a wonderful woman who encourages me to enjoy my love for backpacking and the outdoors, even though she can't go with me due to health reasons.

Starting with 2005 I'm going to be devoting at least a week-10 days each year to one long backpacking trip, as well as numerous weekend overnighters. My backpacking lifelist (outside the PNW) includes hiking in areas of Yosemite National Park, Ansel Adams Wilderness, SEKI, Superstition Wilderness, Grand Teton Nat. Park, and the Bridger-Teton Wilderness.

So there you have a bit about me. Looking forward to "meeting" everyone here!

Hi WN! Have you recently moved to Oregon? Where are you? There are several of us Oregonians lurking around in here. Oldtimer is in Roseburg, I'm in Coos Bay, soon to be Eugene, ChinaChas is in Portland and several others. Both Portland and Eugene areas have great hiking groups.

Troll? Not me, lol! Only trolls I've seen were in the Lord of The Rings movies.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I've lived in Washington and Oregon all my life, and probably will forever--so much diversity in environment. Within a few hours (less, depending on location), you can be in the mountains, the desert, or at the beach. But there's also lots of other places around the country I want to hike, and it looks like others here share some of my wishlist (do I sense a possible TT group trip down the road?).

Thanks again for the welcome!

Do you sense a possible TT group trip? That's all we do. And then we talk about it. Lots.

Welcome... hey, and look to expand that list. :-)

I'm not sure of all those places, but I don't think you've gotten east of the Rockies or south of Wyoming. Although, yes, it's a mighty fine list.
