“ ![]() The Alaska Highway at Kluane National Park in Yukon Territory, Canada. 6/1992” 10:20:45 PM 8/09/04 “I love that stretch of road.” 10:59:24 PM 8/09/04 “I loved any stretch that was paved and smooth.” 11:15:29 PM 8/09/04 “ ![]() Looking down at the Kaskawulsh Glacier with the St. Elais mountains as the setting. Granted, not good developing, but you get the idea I hope. The Slims River forms here and flows to the right out of the picture. The "little" hill at lower left is about 4-500 feet tall to give some perspective. I hiked up the small hill first and had a close-up look and hear at the sounds of the glacier as it grinds away. Lots of quicksand in that valley. It's called Slims River for the name of a horse that got stuck in the quicksand. Or so was the story... never knew what to believe from those canucks. 6/92.” 11:56:30 PM 8/11/04 “ ![]() Camping in the Slims River valley.” 11:57:18 PM 10/18/05 “Cool. Got an email from the NPS. They saw my Kluane National Park photo album here on thebackpacker.com and want to use some of my photos for their newsletter. Watch this site in the future... http://www.nps.gov/wrst/keltaeni/keltaeni.htm” 1:06:33 AM 2/25/06 “Is there anywhere you haven't been,USA?? Congrat's to you..great pics” 9:13:03 PM 2/25/06 “Thanks. I got to see a lot of places when I was young, single, and not concerned about money. Now I am paying the piper with a mortgage and holding onto a job like my life and retirement depend on it.” 10:49:24 PM 2/25/06 “ ![]() Slims River valley ![]() Kaskawulsh Glacier & Mt Maxwell” 9:28:11 PM 1/23/07 “When was the Kaskawulsh/ Mt. Maxwell photo taken? And how muddy are those hills? ;)” 9:32:33 PM 1/23/07 “6/92. The lower photo doesn't have any hills -that's rocks on top of the glacier as you can see some ice in the lower right.” 9:36:05 PM 1/23/07 “Ah, ok, it was hard to tell whether that was gravel covered ice or river washout. Did you hike much on the glacier?” 9:37:54 PM 1/23/07 “No. The photo was taken from a knoll. In fact from the knoll in the lower left of this photo... ![]() last edited: 1/23/07 9:57:34 PM” 9:50:10 PM 1/23/07
