I don't know if this is allowed
So my apologies if it isn't.

Anyhoo, I need to move down to LA and need a job. So if anyone has any networking/connections, I am experienced primarily in accounting managment, project managment and analysis.

Again. Hope this is ok. And thanks!

This is Trail Talk. Anything goes, as long as you don't insult a minority group.

Good luck, pixie!

So why do you need to move to L.A.? Cover story wearing thin? Local cops on to you? Tired of never seeing the sun?

wonder if a guy is involved in this move.

Nope, not a guy
bit: It's option 3. (well a big part of it.)

I am tired of winters here. I have 4 good friends down there. I went to college in LA and it's my second home. I needed a change and wanted to be with my girlfriends. The social scene in Seattle is really difficult. People are cliquish and it's hard to meet new people (friends and dates.)

And heck I won't have any trouble finding backpacking buddies, thanks to TT.

I would imagine that the statement above would more true for LA than anywhere else on the planet.

What dayhiker said...

Trust me, I live here.

I think most cities are like that. You take the good with the bad. I think my city has more Professional Transients than anywhere else.

Are you a CPA? The company I work for is looking to replace the gal that just quit to go into real estate.

Accounting is geared towards oi and gas production.

Did I mention that it is near three major mountain ranges?

Beartooths, Wind Rivers, and Bighorns. Close to the Crazy Mountains in Montana, and not too far from the Swtooths in Idaho.

But I am specifically looking for a job in Los Angeles, as I will be living with friends there (Santa Monica specifically.)

ww and dayhiker: I don't know, I lived in LA for 4 years and thought it was super easy to meet people. And still do each time I visit. (Maybe that just goes to show how hard it is in Seattle if that is what I compare it to!)

Duly noted! If I hear anything I will pass it along. As was asked before, are you a CPA? Are you affiliated with the aerospace industry? If so, Boeing is big in LA since they bought up Rockwell, Hughes, McDonnell-Douglas, to name a few. Lots of aerospace just south of Santa Monica.

Nope, not a CPA
I am more into analysis and project managment. For instance a Controller position might be over my head. But AR or AP Manager or something the like is where my experience lies.

No aerospace experience, although I grew up in Everett, a huge Boeing town and many of my friends are Engineers there. I've applied a bit at Ratheon and Grumman in Torrance, but no responses from them.

I've been looking for a job on and off down in LA for a year!

OK. Thanks for the clarification.

Which college(s) did you attend?
