We visited the store yesterday for the first time and was pretty impressed with their selection of gear. Nice to actually try out all of the Western Mountaineering bags (they also had Marmot, Mountainsmith, Mtn. Hardwear, and Kelty) pretty good selection of most other gear too. Definitely a much closer drive for us in Portage than the REI in Oakbrook Terrace.”

Cheri and I were supposed to go down to Hoosier this weekend (had the packs packed and all) and then had to stay in the area this morning to help the 19 year old son with car repair issues so no Bping, but it did cause us to get over to Valpo and we stopped in at Adventure Outfitters which is having a huge sale. Don't know if you knew about the sale but is pretty good. Tons of clothing racks 40% off (I scored a marmot driclime shirt for the 40% off) Also, they have the Western Mountaineering Bags on sale too (all sleeping bags for that matter). Any bag 20 deg and up is 10% off and all bags 15 degs and lower are 25% off. I don't often see WM bags at 25% off so I thought I would pass the info on to you.

Unfortunately, they only had 10% off of their tents or we probably would have bought either the MSR Missing Link or Hubba Hubba (can do better with the 20% off at REI right now though).”
