“I once climbed the highest sand dune there... omething like a thousand feet high. That was different.”

“What a wild place, I visited there years ago as a teenager on the way home to TN from Philmont. 4 of us ran up on the edge of a dunes top "lip" and jumped into the air over the edge and fell about 15 feet sinking in the sand up to our knees, lotsa fun. Got a GREAT pic with someone at the bottom snapping the shutter while we were in the air. Gave the impression of us being dozens of feet in the sky blacked out with the sun behind us.
