This one takes the cake.” 2:36:20 PM 9/25/04 “So how's the weather down there? Is Ocala NF still in tact?” 9:26:11 AM 9/26/04 “We haven't heard from anyone yet. We're fine, just some rain and a little wind so far. Looks like most of the county to the south of us is getting hit though. We're just outside and wind band apparently. Kinda cool.” 9:44:05 AM 9/26/04 “Roam survived the night in the eye of the storn. he said there was a period of time near 1am that the wind and rain stopped, which lasted 45 minutes to an hour(?)” 10:54:15 AM 9/26/04 “Winter - That means the eye was passing over him. He got some of the worst of it. I wish he could have moved a week earlyer. I'm concerned about nowslimmer (Paul). He was on the North (real bad) side of it.” 11:03:06 AM 9/26/04 “Dang, I wish Paul had a cell phone! Anyone know if he does, and the number?” 1:34:59 PM 9/26/04 “Yep, I'm fine - worried a littl about Paul tho- Melbourne got it bad.” 9:57:46 PM 9/26/04 “So who have we not heard from other than NowSlimmer or Om?” 9:41:52 PM 9/27/04 fl bper's “lots of trees down...alot more roof damage...no power...thank god for my generator. everyone is safe. im in jupiter” 9:26:33 AM 9/28/04 “Glad to hear you're safe Deanoman. My parents have friends down in Jupiter. Their "guaranteed" tile roof blew itself to pieces to the tune of about 15 grand. I hope yours is a lot less than that.” 9:29:50 AM 9/28/04 fl bper's “i had damage from frances already. i have regular 3 tab shingles. adjuster came this am and i get a roof for sure. the damn 2% deductable is a bit of a stinger though. i needed a new roof anyway...so what the hell. trees arnt covered which is a big problem at my place we'll get thru it thanks” 12:25:12 PM 9/28/04 I'm OK. “My daughter and granddaughter are OK, too. They have electricity, but no cable for the computer. I do not have power. The library just opened today, so I am using one of their computers. Glad to hear that some of you are OK. Don't have time to read all your stories just now, but I will later. Just wanted to check in with you. Against my better judgement, I stayed at the home of some friends. A cover came off their chimney and hit my windshield. It's not broken, but has many cracks. (This was something about which I worried, since I do not insurance for that sort of thing.) I cannot feel the cracks with my finger, inside or outside of the glass, so they must be internal, somehow! The damage at trailer haven was more severe than last time. At least 12 units are totaled and the count may be 24 to 36. Since one cannot see the tops from the ground, it is impossible for me to get an exact count. After several tours of the park on my bicycle, I estimate 60 to 70% of the places have visible damage from in front. I could not imagine that so much aluminum remained after Frances, but Jeanne left pieces everywhere. Most of it is from roofs, carports and Florida Rooms. My damages were minor: some screens were torn and my Florida Room bed and carpet were soaked. I sealed things pretty well under the door, where rain water used to blow into the room. But I forgot to close the window in the door! At the other end I had two windows open a crack at the NE corner of the room. It appears a lot of water came through the cracks, unless there is a roof leak that I have not discovered, yet. Touring the area leaves me feeling kind of sick. Yet, people are glad to be alive and everyone takes some consolence in realizing that things could have been worse. The grandmother of my daughter's husband had the roof blown off her house and the house is totaled. Yesterday I received a check from FEMA for over $1,300 on my Frances account. It says on the check, "Temporary housing." A side note says that they will send a letter telling what the money is intended to cover. This unexpected event made me feel a little better. Best wishes. I hope everyone is OK.” 3:50:02 PM 9/28/04 “Good to hear from you NS, been worried about ya.” 3:52:05 PM 9/28/04 “Glad to see you're okay, Nowslimmer!” 3:52:32 PM 9/28/04 “Great to hear from you Paul! I was concerned. Thanks for letting us know you are OK.” 3:53:43 PM 9/28/04 “Anyone heard from om????” 3:54:16 PM 9/28/04 “Thanks for checking in NS. I missed your photons on my computer screen.” 3:55:46 PM 9/28/04 “Called om. She's OK also! She said she would check in in a bit.” 4:13:03 PM 9/28/04 “yo...i am ok too.... a power line broken and a few trees across the road out, but the om dome was spared any further hits thanks be to god.” 4:17:02 PM 9/28/04 “Glad to know y'all are ok. I've been concerned.” 4:19:13 PM 9/28/04 “Glad to hear you all are ok. When's the next one?” 7:11:17 AM 9/29/04 “Another "glad to know you're all okay." Does anyone know Tango? Has she checked in?” 10:35:13 AM 9/29/04 “Yep - she is ok.” 7:13:51 AM 9/30/04 “I lost power and some trees, But not my family or my life. I'm very Lucky and very very very Thankful. Matt” 7:31:02 AM 9/30/04 POWER !!! “Received some free ice yesterday and today. A truck delivered it in our area. It was so nice to drink some ice water! Power came on today while I was eating lunch. What a difference! Yesterday evening I bought a boom box that can operate on batteries. I just had to have a noise maker. I, also, plan to use it, while car camping.” 12:35:55 PM 9/30/04 “A/C is gooooooooood ain't it!” 12:58:36 PM 9/30/04 “mee too... and on the fifth day, the lord sent angels from Texas electric...who restoreth my electrons...and there was hot water for cleansing and cold water for thirst and frozen water for vodka tonic and the mugginess was lifted by the A/C... om~~aum ~~amen~~” 12:32:09 AM 10/01/04 “Coolness and I mean that literally!” 12:40:13 AM 10/01/04 Another soaking! “Most of that free ice melted and the water leaked through the cooler.” 8:02:55 AM 10/01/04 “LOL@om Ain't that the truth!” 8:07:55 AM 10/01/04
