Watch closely now.” 11:12:13 AM 8/20/04 “Bush Religion Adviser Quits Campaign Post By Alan Cooperman Deal W. Hudson, publisher of the conservative Catholic magazine Crisis and a close ally of the Bush White House, has resigned as an adviser to the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign because of allegations that he sexually harassed a Fordham University student a decade ago. Hudson, 54, had been a key player in the Republican Party's effort to attract Roman Catholic voters. Because of his connections to the White House and his friendship with senior presidential adviser Karl Rove, he was widely regarded as a Catholic power broker in Washington. The alleged victim, Carastona Poppas, was an 18-year-old Fordham freshman who had been in and out of foster homes since age 7. Hudson was her philosophy teacher, a tenured associate professor who had been a Baptist minister before converting to Catholicism. "He knew I was a ward of the court, without parents, severely depressed, and even suicidal," Poppas told the Catholic newspaper. "He was extremely attentive and genuinely concerned." That attention allegedly went too far one night in February 1994 when Hudson invited her and several older students to a bar in New York's West Village. They all got drunk, and he had sex with her in his car and office, the paper reported.” 11:17:42 AM 8/20/04 “She's 18, and consented... What's the problem? Ohhh yeah... RELIGION” 11:19:07 AM 8/20/04 “Geobeet, Kerry missed MOST of the intelligence committe meetings, not just one that First may have postponsed or something. In fact, John Kerry missed 38 of 49 public hearings of the Senate Intelligence Committee in 8 years. Yes, MISSED 38 of 49. He's plugged in. He cares. But it's Frist's fault. --------------------- WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry missed most of the public hearings of the Senate Intelligence Committee during his eight years on the panel, according to his colleagues. During his tenure on the committee, which provides oversight of national intelligence agencies, Kerry was absent for 38 of 49 public hearings, according to Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga. "There's been a total avoidance of discussion of the voting record of John Kerry," said Chambliss last week, following Kerry's acceptance of the Democratic presidential nomination. "But that's not surprising. There's one area that he claims to have a lot of expertise and that's in the area of national security and on the issue of terrorism." Chambliss said Kerry's vice presidential candidate, John Edwards, is a current member of the committee, "And I'll just tell you that in the last year and a half we haven't seen a whole lot of his running mate. And I would hope that he would agree to release to you the record of his attendance at meetings and hearings of the Senate Intelligence Committee over the last year and a half, or his total service on that committee." Chambliss also questioned some of the votes Kerry did cast. "For example, in1993 after the World Trade Center bombing Senator Kerry introduced a number of measures that were to reduce funding for the intelligence community by $7.5 billion, including a bill that he introduced in 1995 that called for the reduction in funding for the intelligence committees and intelligence communities by $300 million a year for five consecutive years," he said. Chambliss points out those five years led up to Sept. 11. Kerry did not get any co-sponsors on that bill.” 11:55:02 AM 8/20/04 “Yeah, Buck, you're right. He's almost as bad as Bush.” 11:58:32 AM 8/20/04 “Buck, I cited ONE VOTE. It says, "a vote." A vote is singular, not plural. I know you're just kidding, but jeez!” 12:07:11 PM 8/20/04 “No, JEEZ to you. So THERE. :Ž PLLLLTTTTHHH!!! You snipperpunk. Go take a short pier for a long walk.” 12:18:38 PM 8/20/04 “Oh yeah? You don't show me nuthin! Bring it on, Left Coast punk! (Pssst, somebody got a snort of testosterone for Buck?)” 12:25:13 PM 8/20/04 “You think you're hot snot on a silver platter but you're just a cold booger on a paper plate.” 12:32:50 PM 8/20/04 “Ooooooooooo, I'd better back off. Buck's getting mad. I might cause another quake in LaLa land.” 12:34:38 PM 8/20/04 “Now you're pissin' me off, you little super-sonic idiotic disconnected brain-infected overloaded candy-coated rubber chicken booger-lickin' ding-dong dork.” 12:49:25 PM 8/20/04 “Oh come on Buck. You can do better than that. At least insert leftist every other word. WWACD? * What would Ann Coulter do?” 1:42:54 PM 8/20/04 “Esquire has some interesting articles on the election this month if you can wade past all the fashion ads. I didn't realize Ron Reagan was so elloquent.” 1:50:44 PM 8/20/04 “"Kerry had access to the same intelligence Bush did Geo, are you saying that Kerry didn't know his ass from a WMD?" But Bison, being a part of the intelligence committee doesn't mean jack squat if you NEVER SHOW UP for meetings. The only time sKerry seemed to show up for intell stuff is to make suggestions to slash the intell community so bad that not one single liberal can even agree with your proposal. Not even Chapaquidic Ted.” 3:15:59 PM 8/20/04 “You're a day short and a dollar late with that argument Nigal. We've been there; done that.” 3:17:13 PM 8/20/04 “SOS DD Bush screws up and you clowns cry about Kerry attending meetings.” 3:18:05 PM 8/20/04 “If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. -- Harry Truman If you can't stand the heat, obfuscate. -- George W. Bush” 3:21:44 PM 8/20/04 “A Kerry legal advisor resigned after getting a citation for soliciting a prostitute - looks like the campaigns are even on the sexual morals thing for the week.” 3:26:13 PM 8/20/04 “Damn Geo, your just pissing your depends today aren't ya. Three nonsense posts in a row? That's a new record.” 3:26:40 PM 8/20/04 “Didn't the Bush administration drag its feet on asking the CIA to produce the NIE on Iraq for Congress until just before vote was taken? By that time, the administration was merely selling the war, not making policy decisions. Therefore, it's pretty obvious that the President relied on different information than Congress did. To say they saw the same intelligence is disingenuous. As the Washington Post noted, the Bush administration “made some of their most unequivocal assertions about unconventional weapons before the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) was completed.”” 4:47:26 PM 8/20/04 “Oh yeah... Did you get around to reading what I posted last night about what the President was required to do before taking us to war yet Buck? Did he follow the law or not?” 4:49:05 PM 8/20/04 4:49:40 PM 8/20/04 “"Damn Geo, your just pissing your depends today aren't ya. Three nonsense posts in a row? That's a new record." Nigal The tree's pissing on the dog again, I see.” 4:51:29 PM 8/20/04 “Oh that is more bad news for shrub, Geo. From the NY Times story: A series of interviews and a review of documents show a web of connections to the Bush family, high-profile Texas political figures and President Bush's chief political aide, Karl Rove. Records show that the group received the bulk of its initial financing from two men with ties to the president and his family - one a longtime political associate of Mr. Rove's, the other a trustee of the foundation for Mr. Bush's father's presidential library. A Texas publicist who once helped prepare Mr. Bush's father for his debate when he was running for vice president provided them with strategic advice. And the group's television commercial was produced by the same team that made the devastating ad mocking Michael S. Dukakis in an oversized tank helmet when he and Mr. Bush's father faced off in the 1988 presidential election.” 5:00:34 PM 8/20/04 “I can't wait till December.” 5:02:55 PM 8/20/04 “The New York Times? (laughing!)” 5:08:02 PM 8/20/04 “Hi Rev! Did you read what the Iraq war resolution said 'specifically' about the threat of Iraq? And Kerry said he would STILL vote to give Bush the authority to invade Iraq based on that same resolution saying how much of a threat Iraq was to the United States. I'm not talking about some general 'war authorization' for a President, but specifically the Iraq resolution he voted on. He needs to take some time off and figure out who he is.” 5:11:12 PM 8/20/04 “That Times story sure makes that group look like a pathetic group of liars with illegal ties to the Bush campaign. Dubya should have known better than to attack the record of a guy who charged straight at a dude with a rocket launcher and killed him. RIP Bush/Cheney 04.” 5:12:04 PM 8/20/04 “Buck - go back and read my post from last night. Do you think Bush followed the law? Simple question.” 5:14:19 PM 8/20/04 “Rev, I read your post, yes, Bush followed the law. Did you read the specific Iraq War resolution that Kerry voted on, saying that Iraq was a really icky threat to the United States, and he voted yes then, and he'd still vote yes TODAY! A little identitity crisis for Kerry, that's all, we all go through them now and then.” 5:17:53 PM 8/20/04 “Rev, here's a refresher for ya. I dare ya to read it. It's the actual 107th Iraq War Resolution. Read it all. Read the parts about how much of a threat Iraq is to the United States, which is why we went to war. Knowing what we do now, at this point in time, Kerry says he'd still sign this same thing giving Bush the authorization to go to war. That's crazy, based on the thinking of the majority of Democrats today. 107th Congress Iraq War Resolution From the resolution Kerry signed and would still sign again today... "Whereas in Public Law 105-235 (August 14, 1998), Congress concluded that Iraq's continuing weapons of mass destruction programs threatened vital United States interests..." "Whereas Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations." "Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq." "Whereas Iraq's demonstrated capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction, the risk that the current Iraqi regime will either employ those weapons to launch a surprise attack against the United States..."” 5:25:04 PM 8/20/04 “Axtually I posted a link to that too last night for you Buck, so yes I did read it. When did Bush report to Congress that the inspectors weren't on the ground or were prevented from doing their job? Have we caught the 9-11 planners?” 5:54:24 PM 8/20/04 “Maybe someone should ask Bush if he would have invaded Iraq without the justification of 9/11 and WMD. Oh wait... The only people allowed to get close to him have to sign a waiver and ask predetermined questions.” 6:06:09 PM 8/20/04 “Predetermined question #1: Mr. Bush, did God annoint you to save America from the Godless leftist horde?” 6:13:19 PM 8/20/04 “The American Taliban: Bush Cheney Falwell Robertson” 6:14:19 PM 8/20/04 “Somebody rush to Nigal's aid. He'll need help when he reads my posts.” 6:15:02 PM 8/20/04 “Yeah Rev, Bush really Nixoned that one! Make no mistake about it. I could have told the truth. But that would have been the easy thing to do.” 6:16:49 PM 8/20/04 “Rev, Saddam was playing games all over the place with inspections, he had been for a decade, that's why all the U.N. resolutions condemning him. After more than a decade, Bush didn't all of a sudden rush to war on this issue. No sir reee. I just find it ironic that Kerry would still, to this day, vote for authorization for Bush to go to war with Iraq based on the assumption that they were a threat to our national security, were actively persuing nuclear material for weapons, and had all kinds of WMDs ready to use against us, were harboring Al Qaeda members, and may use WMDs to launch a surprise attack. John Kerry still voting for war authorization based on all these statements in the resolution? Hmmmm. He needs a hike. Which is cool, we all need hikes. A little "where does Kerry really stand on issues" might help now and then when he's running for President.” 6:26:34 PM 8/20/04 “Problem is, nothing productive will ever come from these threads, because too many who post here have absolutely no interest in determining fact, but just in promoting their idealogical POV. They read into anything one posts exactly what they want, reality be damned! I feel sorry for most extremists... the majority seem like very sad people who will never be happy with anything that happens here in the U.S., whether they be lefties or righties.” 6:29:32 PM 8/20/04 Wanderer “venting here means no politics on the trail and no violence. ;)” 6:37:24 PM 8/20/04 “Hope not. Did you read that story about the two campers who were shot in their sleepy bags out here on the ocean yesterday? Very sad story... they seemed like nice kids from the bio's that were written.” 6:42:06 PM 8/20/04 “Agreed. It's too bad, and I wonder if there's not a lot more to the story.” 7:33:58 PM 8/20/04 “Wow Nigal....that was impressive. You're still a putz. So is Bush.” 7:47:11 PM 8/20/04 “ ”9:53:59 PM 8/20/04 “And we can't come up with associates and donors of Kerry that are puttin' out lies in ads by 527 groups about Bush... Please take your head outta your (Bleep). Kerry came out and said that Bush hasn't condemned the ads. One problem with that, Bush has condemned all misleading ads by these groups on both sides. Kerry knows this for a fact, and yet he is the one who has picked and chosen which false attacks on Bush he will condemn and which he will not. Will Kerry condemn all of these attacks as Bush has? There is only one question I see left to answer here. Is Kerry a hypocrite in addition to being a liar?” 11:36:14 PM 8/20/04 “"I mean, where has the Kerry campaign been for the last year while more than $62 million in funding through these shadowy groups have been used to negatively attack the president?" Scott McClellan Good question, maybe the FEC should be looking into that, seems that the Swift Boat Vets etc's less than one million spent pales in comparison. And don't forget Michael Moore's ninety minute lie which was bankrolled by... you guessed it, big Kerry donors.” 11:43:34 PM 8/20/04 “Oh, wait a second on further examination, the Kerry campaign is already being investigated by the FEC for illegaly conspiring with 527 organizations! Strange how the media throws Kerry's charges to the front page and hides the fact that Kerry's campaign is also being investigated in the back. Feel like you're being manipulated by the media yet?” 11:53:11 PM 8/20/04 “"A Kerry legal advisor resigned after getting a citation for soliciting a prostitute - looks like the campaigns are even on the sexual morals thing for the week....." That would be "Butch" Hollowell. The situation happened just down the street from me. The story is that he saw a women who he thought was in distress, pulled over, picked her up and was on his way to drive her to the police station. The area of where I'm talking about does have a great deal of hookers, but the next mile orad up, resides some of Detroits finest homes. The city is weird like that. At any rate, the was not a police sting and se was a real hooker. An independant attourney was quoted as saying that these types of cases are dismissed 90% of the time, due to lack of evidence. They didn't catch them in the act, he was just in the "presence of", which is not illegal. If he is cleared, it will be a "blow" (hehehe) to people who try and help other people in this troubled town. Three are enough people who don't get invovled around here.” 8:29:01 AM 8/21/04 “And we can't come up with associates and donors of Kerry that are puttin' out lies in ads by 527 groups about Bush... Please take your head outta your (Bleep). Please do come up with those. It'll make for interesting reading. Also, the more damning part of the article above (that you seem to be trying to distract attention from) is what the players involved said about Kerry previous to the funding of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Seems like a lot of them weren't so resentful of Kerry before a book deal and a well-funded 527 turned up. Kerry came out and said that Bush hasn't condemned the ads. One problem with that, Bush has condemned all misleading ads by these groups on both sides. The white house has declined to specifically condemn this ad. Kerry condemned a similar ad about Bush's service by Moveon.org. Kerry knows this for a fact, and yet he is the one who has picked and chosen which false attacks on Bush he will condemn and which he will not. Will Kerry condemn all of these attacks as Bush has? There is only one question I see left to answer here. Is Kerry a hypocrite in addition to being a liar?" Bison 11:36:14 PM 08/20/04 Bush is standing to the side, while people with close personal ties to him and Karl Rove engage in this smear campaign exactly as they did against McCain. Every now and then he wrings his hands and says: "wouldn't it be great if there were no smear campaigns?" Your attempt at spin on this issue is, perhaps, one of the most flagrant I've seen on this board.” 9:38:54 AM 8/21/04 “Oh, and Laqtis, if a political legal advisor picks up a hooker, he knows exactly what he's doing. The idea that he was helping someone in distress is beyond credibility to me.” 9:40:41 AM 8/21/04
