Anyone have these? “I am looking to purchace a pair of trail runners and put my clunky heavy boots on the shelf. Anyone use these or something similar?” 9:27:19 AM 8/19/04 “I've had the same thought, be interested in hearing how you like them. You now get a new name: Wounded GuineaPig!” 9:52:30 AM 8/19/04 “I use some Salomon shoes I got from STP. Don't recall the model. They work great and are actually lighter than my pair of Teva's that I've hiked in. 20-25# pack and light shoes work great for me.” 9:53:42 AM 8/19/04 “Which ones DH? Similar to the ones I just got? (See new gear thread). I used TNF Ultra 102 trail runners for the last couple of hikes. Love using trail runners... I can't stand my Goretex boots any more.” 9:59:46 AM 8/19/04 “I've been very happy with my Montrail trail runners the past year. They have served me well thru two Western trips and several SE trips. Montrail Leona Divide are very similar to the discontinued model I wear.” 10:09:07 AM 8/19/04 “I use New Balance, but my advice is buy what fits. I wear the NB's because they come extra wide (EE and EEEE).” 10:55:08 AM 8/19/04 “I use Asics Eagle Trail shoes - they seem to work well for me - link>/a> In the past I have also used New Balance 804's - they were OK also but I like the Asics more.” 12:47:44 PM 8/19/04 “I have dayhiked with Salomon XA Pro's but have never backpacked without boots--primarily for the ankle support, but also for protection from sharp rocks.” 2:02:22 PM 8/19/04 “DX - I don't remember what model they are. Sorry.” 2:36:27 PM 8/19/04
