“This is so horrible. They were whitewater raft guides on the same stretch of American River where I guided for a couple summers, and they were on a beach in Sonoma County, which I frequent. They worked with kids and had devoted their life to this ministry. They were engaged and were soon to head back home for their wedding. They were active wilderness adventurers and this is so tragic and freaky. My heart goes out to their families.”

“Well I made it back without incident. This was the nicest weekend I have had on the MRT. No rain for once. Cool breeze during the day, nice and cool at night. No pictures right now, I shot slide film on this trip.
I noticed there was a sign at the bridge asking hikers to park a mile west of the bridge. That was new to me. Also I lot more signs about camping at designated spots. I ignored both this trip.”
