It's funny, we've been trying to teach her (along with our neighbor whose an ex-teacher and current triathaloner) since kindergarten to jump rope and she can't. But boy howdy can she wail it out on a mtn. bike!

Right on.

I did Tsali before. That was always a popular run. I think that is in NC?

Today I decided to do some road riding with a friend of mine. We have rode together quite a few times and I know his pace pretty good, so I thought I would try something different. I decided to ride my 1991 Fuji single speed. I knew it would be a challenge, but I figured it would be fun to give it a try.

Well everything was going well until we hit the 13 mile mark. I was behind a little bit and decided to catch up, so I stood up and started pumping,......then it happened...MY LEFT PEDDLE BROKE!!! I was all over the road trying not to fall and I finally managed to come to a stop on the grass. It was a scary moment.

I didn't get injured, but I am glad my center bar was not an inch higher, or I would be talking like Michael Jackson now.

Glad there wasnt any traffic when you were trying to recover MB! Scarey.

Check out what we got: http://www.rei.com/product/783808/chariot-carriers-cougar-1-stroller-trailer-chassis

I traded an old polar heart rate monitor, $50 and 2 massages for it. It is AMAZING. Even w/ the 35# kid in it doesnt feel like there's anything behind the bike. We are going to be utilizing it a lot.

Awesome! I use a bike trailer with my girl a lot. She loves it.

Glad you didn't wipe out mildbill. I, on the other hand, scrubbed on a ride this weekend when I hit some gravel going into a turn and went otb. Worst was a fat lip, some road rash and HUGE bruise about an inch to the left of my junk where the handlebars/stem made contact. Glad it wasn't an inch more to the right...

The fun part was riding another five miles back to my truck with one pedal. That was a real workout.

I've had a shoe clip out like that before, but I've never broken a pedal... I did have the crank arm on my fixie work loose once...that was kind of awkward.

I rode about 10 miles on it the day before, and one time I was turning sharp going a little too fast and my pedal hit the pavement. I think that may have caused some damage to it.

This is the bike I was on....

Went up to the middle school near us and rode for a while. Didn't try the hills yet, but bumps, curbs and things lying in the way aren't bad with 29 inch wheels. Now mind you the curb was unintentional but we did just fine. The funny part is Laurel's acting she's now a professional and HAS to be my instructor! My knees feel wobbly though. THe best part was seeing a litter of baby bunnies out with their mama. Way too cute! Each one was about a big handful!

Getting ready to head out to ride and there's a big thorn sticking out of my front tire. Grrr. Time for tube repair.

HPM's new Canfield Bros. "Yelliscreamy" anodized purple bike frame just showed up at the door. He's stuck in meetings all day. ;P

HPM's out trying his new bike, AGAIN...he got his pedals reversed (they're stamped L and R and he didn't notice) and stripped the threads out of his new Shimano cranks. The mtn. bike dude at Carolina Bicycle repaired his rush job to get everything together. It's heavy rain, 35 mph gusts and thunder here but the storm is coming form the south and headed north, up to where HPM and Laurel are Hope conditions hold. Laurel got a new bike this weekend too. Couldn't beat clearance pricing plus an additional 20% off at REI. Little girl's now running 26" rims on an XS GT frame. She loves it!
