My friend Sandy and I went back to Clear Creek to backpack this weekend.
Saw that you were there in July.
We signed in this time. Sometimes I forget.
Give the dog a pat for me.
He's a great dog, but I guess if you like dogs most of them are.

We have a club trip there in October and I will probably be back before then.
Not many backpackers there. A scout troop once in awhile.
Not even any canoe campers this weekend.

If You Don't Mind Other Campsite Suggestions......
If the Bullion Run Iron Furnace trail wasn't such a dead end I believe more folks would visit the furnace area. Speaking of seclusion, if you don't mind getting your feet wet by crossing the stream, there's a beautiful spot to camp across from the iron furnace.

And Dennison Run trail, where the Goat Trail ends at the bottom, has some great camp sites.

And both those places have better water to filter than the riverwater.

There is a piped spring right on the River Trail at Danner and the water is very clean.
We filter but it is probably safe even if you don't.
I'll have to check on the Iron Furnace spot and I have camped on Dennison Run.
I cleaned trash out of the shavings can at Danner and am going to call them today and tell them it is in the men's side of the toilet.
Everyone seems to think that the shavings can is for trash and I clean it out almost every we go there, but this time it wasn't just paper I could burn.
It was left over food, plastic bottles, etc.

And Danner Is A Beautiful Spot Along The River
Is that piped spring the one having a nicely done rock-wall and water catch basin? Cause it "use" to have a sign saying the water does not meet EPA drinking water standards. I'm sure the sign is just for straight-up drinking without filtering.

And I hear ya about the trash. On the trails I pick up alot of energy bar wrappers, energy drink cans/bottles, from, imo, mtn bikers too lazy to carry their trash out.

The sign is still at the spring so we filter.
We have been using it for a few years and have never gotten sick.
It's very convenient.
