These days it's pretty hard to tune into TT for me - I guess the thrill is gone.

I've decided to stick with backpacking threads at least 95% of the time. They're the only ones I really care about. Most of the rest are just frivolous nonsense, IMO. I'd rather talk backpacking.

I guess I have a short attention span but I go through these periods as well.

wingding, care to explain a little more. Tell the reasons why.

Yes, we all know how it is. You wake up one morning and look over at TT; hair all messy, unshaven as he slogs off to the bathroom. He's put on a few pounds over the years, as well. The "Other Site" has tempted you lately and you catch yourself fantisizing.

Maybe TT and Wingding need to go away for a romantic weekend and re-kindle the old spark!

I pretty much only read backpacking threads. And then only the ones close to home or where I think I might one day go.

I'm with Ewker, wondering what prompted the post...........

The Thrill Is Gone

BB King

The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you'll be sorry someday

The thrill is gone
It's gone away from me
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be

The thrill is gone
It's gone away for good
Oh, the thrill is gone baby
Baby its gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be over it all baby
Just like I know a man should

You know I'm free, free now baby
I'm free from your spell
I'm free, free now
I'm free from your spell
And now that it's over
All I can do is wish you well

Wingding. Don't you understand that this is one of those "survivor reality shows"? The last one on this site gets a free backpacking trip to Matt's back yard.

I know the feeling. TT is a love hate thing with me.

Sometimes it's a lot of fun to post and banter back and forth.

Sometimes it's a colossal waste of time and you can't believe just how stupid or hateful some of the topics, opinions and discussions are and you wonder why you even bothered to look.

Later it seems fun again and there you are in the middle of posting those same stupid topics, opinions and discussions while wasting colossal amounts of time.

Probably just has more to do with mood and what is happening that moment in the real world.

I'm sure this poll has been taken, but how many people post from work and are so bored with their jobs that they use TT just to get them through their day?????????

Me too. Same thing, although it felt sort of like the blahs following my long hike...if there is such a thing. Now I'm back to being my normal smart aleck self again. It's like any relationship, ebb and flow.

I will eat my shoes and live in a car before I join a union. Might as well open a window and throw $30 out the window every pay day. BTW- who's the TT union steward? I have some heavy grievences to file!

Noticed HOI hasn't been around lately. LeSubtil isn't posting anymore....and loads more. Dodder, Father Goose, Jer, and on and on.

The thrill comes and goes (and sometimes stays gone) for everyone.

Family life is great! My daughter is beautiful and wonderful. She's 10 months now. Just had her on the trail for a dayhike this weekend.

I have surgery on my back in September so I'll be out of commision for six months or so. Maybe I'll have time to post more.

I'm considering getting in on the Knobstone trip on Labor Day if my wife won't balk. I can still pack for now as long as I keep my weight under 25 pounds.

I've been spending way to much time on TT during the day. I must cut back.

"TT has lost it's thrill"? I think the longer you are on TT, you begin to realize more than a few people here are just jerks out to pi$$ people off, but that is true for most forums. Use the ignore feature.
