Hood, I don't wanna wait three and a half months to use my new gear.” 1:45:09 PM 9/02/04 “yeah, sometime in May would be good though. Right, plenty of time.” 1:47:52 PM 9/02/04 1:48:44 PM 9/02/04 “OK! do you live out that way? What kind of board did you get? I need some new equipment, but am buying bpacking stuff right now. Having fun costs lots of money:(” 1:49:42 PM 9/02/04 “:( No I live in VA, so no snow til' probably mid Dec. I got an Atomic Hatchet, I wanted more of a freeride board, but this one was closest to what I wanted within my budget.” 1:54:38 PM 9/02/04 “I got new hiking boots this weekend also... I could be responsible and buy a house, but I can't resist gear!” 1:55:53 PM 9/02/04 “buying a house = less hiking” 1:57:15 PM 9/02/04 “Why buy a house when you can buy a new tent? I wonder how light a tent you could get for $450,000?” 2:02:03 PM 9/02/04 “For $450,000, the tent better hike it's self in, with your gear, set its self up, and cook your food.” 2:04:15 PM 9/02/04 and “break out an acoustic guitar in camp and play all four sides of the Bealtes' White Album” 2:05:40 PM 9/02/04 “Sherpa5000” 2:06:06 PM 9/02/04 “Hell, for $450,000, you could hire an army of hookers to carry all your gear, set up the tent, cook your food, massage your aching "muscles", etc.” 2:06:53 PM 9/02/04 “Also remind me not to live where Bison lives. On average houses run anywhere from $100,000 to $200,000 and I can't come close to affording one.” 2:09:49 PM 9/02/04 “That would be a real bargain in NoVa I think.” 2:12:59 PM 9/02/04 “I imagine the average pay is a lot higher there as well.” 2:14:27 PM 9/02/04 “Northern VA has probably the mopst expensive housing market in the mid-atlantic.” 2:18:55 PM 9/02/04 2:21:43 PM 9/02/04 “$450,000 ??? Could I interest you in a TerraQuest?” 2:22:05 PM 9/02/04 2:25:20 PM 9/02/04 come to the south “i bought a house and can go hiking too! property taxes are pretty cheap down here.....” 2:27:54 PM 9/02/04 Bison “I may be planning a trip to Snowshoe in December. Whats the snow like there that time of year?” 2:29:04 PM 9/02/04 “i'll be selling my place next spring.....it'll be up for grabs. and you can hike w/ embear to your hearts content. :)” 2:30:06 PM 9/02/04 “are you leaving Nashville yam??” 2:33:33 PM 9/02/04 “i mad at you yam. you need to stay here:(” 2:33:42 PM 9/02/04 “where ya moving to Yam - Maine?” 2:34:18 PM 9/02/04 2:34:31 PM 9/02/04 “you betcha i'm movin' out of nashville for the great ne. em--you can't stay mad at me forever!!” 2:44:11 PM 9/02/04 “I think embear should move to the NE as well.” 2:45:54 PM 9/02/04 “CATFIGHT!” 2:46:25 PM 9/02/04 “i'd kick her scrawny arse, bit. :)” 2:47:29 PM 9/02/04 “Maybe, but I think she's got reach on you, yam...” 2:49:32 PM 9/02/04 “View from Mt. Craig on the Black Mtn Crest Trail That is not Tablerock in the pic as my caption states. It is actually Big Butt. Big Butt is just shy of 6,000.” 2:53:07 PM 9/02/04 “bit, i've got an attack cat w/ embear's name on it....” 2:54:08 PM 9/02/04 “Mt. Craig is 6,650 feet. Second highest mountain in the east. Second to its neighboring summit, Mitchell.” 2:54:30 PM 9/02/04 2:56:52 PM 9/02/04 “I did kinda fall in love with Vermont and NH the other weekend. Just got to convince people I can telecommute now.” 3:00:53 PM 9/02/04 “Lake Tear of the Clouds Highest Lake in New York State and source of the Hudson River, elevation 4323'” 3:02:07 PM 9/02/04 “The mountain in the clouds behind Lake Tear is Mount Marcy.” 3:03:00 PM 9/02/04 “NE is too cold. I'd like to move, but it would be west, not north.” 3:06:22 PM 9/02/04 3:23:42 PM 9/02/04 “Bison "I may be planning a trip to Snowshoe in December. Whats the snow like there that time of year?" embear 02:29:04 PM 09/02/04 I haven't been to Snowshoe before, but I believe it gets cold there early. TT snowboarding trip?” 8:27:24 PM 9/02/04 “Did I hear Catfight? I though this was a hiking only thread?” 8:30:15 PM 9/02/04 “Snowshoe should be up and running by the middle of Dec., but probably not all of the trails will be open. It just depends on how cold it gets at night...to be able to produce enough man made snow. Check out Cupp Run and Shays Revenge. Lower Shays is a pretty good steep mogul field. About 4 years ago, they put in a high speed detachable quad on the Western Territory which made skiing Cupp and Shays a real pleasure. It's about and 8 minute round trip...down the mountain and up the chair if you ski fast. I think it's 1,500 vertical feet. Snowshoe Mountain” 8:42:00 PM 9/02/04 “ ”8:44:48 PM 9/02/04 “Awesome! Maybe I should plan the trip in mid January so that more will be open. Is there usually good powder there? Ooops. ENS is gonna be mad I've turned this into a snizzy bizzy thread. So, is there any hiking around snowshoe? LOL!” 10:41:54 AM 9/03/04 “Couldn't you strap the board to your back and hike up the mountain instead of taking the lift?” 10:47:27 AM 9/03/04 “Good thinking, LZ! Although I'd have to get some new boots before I did that. Mine hurt too damn bad.” 10:53:55 AM 9/03/04 “Better yet get some alpine touring skis and bindings w/ skins on them and you could just ski back up the slope.” 10:58:15 AM 9/03/04 “hiking, snowboarding. it's all good” 11:12:13 AM 9/03/04 11:13:45 AM 9/03/04 Jump to Page << prev
