I Need Replacement Caps For My Dromadary Bags “Rick, if you're out there reading this, I Emailed MSR Customer Service last Tues and unfortunately haven't received a reply yet. Please see this post regarding my quandry. If you can help, thanks, if not can I at least purchase the dromadary bag caps? Thanks in advance! thstjohn” 6:52:30 PM 8/27/04 “Rick, did you get my e-mail last week?” 2:33:22 AM 8/29/04 “Sounds like someone better rescue Rick.” 8:04:37 AM 8/29/04 You Cant Even Find Common Caps In YourLocal Stores “Cool! No response from ANYBODY!?!? All I need are replacement caps...just the small cap, because I can see where the threads are wrecked in the female, but the threads of the male larger cap look perfect. You'd think, what with the flip-top spout the caps have that they'd be a common item to find in pharmacy's, hardware stores, etc., but noooooooooooooo! I did alot of searching this weekend, even at an outfitters and even they didn't have replacement caps. Heck, I never even use the flip-top part of the small caps, because it's easier to unscrew off the smaller and drink from the 1/2" hole. You'd think that it'd be easy to find a similar type of cap??? I guess I'll have to try to jerry-rig the caps from leaking. I just hope when they're filled with water and in my pack in transport to the cache locations that they don't leak too much.” 10:39:17 AM 8/29/04 11:57:50 AM 8/29/04 That's An Option.....But I Only Need The SMALL Cap “Yeah, the guy at the outfitters I was at this weekend said MSR has caps like that, but unfortunately they didn't have any instock. I may be able to fuse the smaller cap to the larger cap for the sake of using them, but then I'd have to either use the flip-open spout or unscrew the large cap to get water. However, both don't sound like a good idea because the spout doesn't give water fast enough and the big spout just may cause major spillage. Frankly, if that spigot cap is anything like all the solar shower spigot caps (not saying MSR's spigot caps are the same as other spigot caps), it'll also leak when pressure is applied to the bag.” 12:07:44 PM 8/29/04 A Plastic Bag Screwed Between The Caps Should Work “Before I posted the last post, I had just got done Emailing MSR's Customer Service again. Last week I used my personal mailbox and used their Email address...this time I used MSR's Email system that is provided on their site. Maybe they only get mail that is sent through their site/system and not from customer's personal mailboxes?” 12:13:06 PM 8/29/04 “Sort of like thread tape.” 12:20:21 PM 8/29/04 did you try this: “Toll-Free Line (800) 531-9531 Toll-Free Fax (800) 583-7583” 2:36:26 PM 8/29/04 “Campmor's Store and Pour All container caps fit MSR lids and don't leak. They have flip tops and regular tops. You must buy the whole set and they come with small bottles. I think they are $6.” 10:06:38 PM 8/29/04 “Have you looked at containers/jars around the house? We found lid replacements from mayo. jars for some of our containers. Who knows, the cap for your Makers Mark might fight?!” 10:35:05 PM 8/29/04 “You could buy the hose kit for it... which replaces the little cap ;)” 6:35:01 AM 8/30/04 “I'm going to be big time disappointed at Rick if he don't jump on this -- but Opie said he wasn't returning email, so I am assuming he is out of town?” 6:46:26 AM 8/30/04 “Buddur, If you find one, I need one also. I like the little flip top cap for taking a "shower" (till I lost it).” 7:39:56 AM 8/30/04 What Great Customer Service MSR Currently Has “Well, I have yet to receive a reply from either of my Emails, and considering the timeframe of getting replacement caps form MSR it looks like I'm #&%!$ outa luck. I even offered to purchase them!” 6:03:32 AM 8/31/04
