Less than what?!?! The whole GDP for the rest of the world?

I'm sorry, I thought we were supposed to be learning why we should vote for Bush. The convention seems more like a documentary on 9/11 then a discussion of the issues.

All funnin` aside. Yes that's the source. Q is short for that and Picard runs a close second to my favorite charater in that series, Q. I went by both on other boards before I came here. Thankfully, people here have accepted that as well.

DAMN! I thought he was gonna spring up from the center.

Why in the phuck can't we hear his plan now? We have to log on to his website? Nice agenda!

What about the old folks out there that can't access it? No old folk left behind? Go to the library?

So, it's very clear that this has been about as productive as breast enlargement for bacpac. Nice rack, but is still a big dick.

Wow!

they just tossed a Republican that voiced opposition to the Presidents position in Iraq.

So, shut'em up, freedom of speech be damned.

Unless that person had a gun, or used threating language, that person should NOT have been removed.

This not only flied in the face of freedom of speech, but it also flies in the face of political discourse.

What a white wash. It's disgusting. It is very obvious what this paries platfrom is:

You with us, you're cool, you against us, yer ass is out the door and locked up.

What a phucking joke!

Useful Idiot Protestors Resort to Terrorism
Shooter targets Republican Headquarters

The Herald-Dispatch

HUNTINGTON -- An unidentified shooter fired one bullet Thursday night into the front window of the Republican Headquarters in Huntington while the room was full of candidates and volunteers watching President Bush’s speech at the Republican National Convention.

The bullet left a small hole in the front window of the building at 1402 4th Avenue but caused no injuries. The approximately 25 people in the room said they were shocked that someone would do that but were determined to continue business as usual.

The shooting happened two minutes after President Bush began his speech at about 10:30 p.m., witnesses said.

"We heard a pop. We realized it was a gunshot and we were kind of scared," said Gayle Adkins, a Republican volunteer from Huntington.

A piece of the broken glass had nicked Adkins’ neck but left no injuries.

The Huntington Police Department responded to the scene. Those at the headquarters said they didn’t see anything except for some of the banners jumping as the bullet whizzed over their heads. The police could not locate where the bullet landed.

After realizing what happened, many of those in the room said they were angry somebody would act so recklessly.

"It is pretty ridiculous someone would do this at a gathering that doesn’t hurt anybody," said Republican volunteer Amanda Beach from Huntington.

The shooting won’t intimidate them from continuing to campaign for the Republican Party, many said.

"It has made us want to work harder," said Brendon Childers, a Republican volunteer from Huntington.

The Huntington Police are still looking for the shooter.

It appears that the city (who was expecting 1,000 arrest a day) couldn't process the 1800+ arrests in a timely fashion. Less than half expected and the brass is crying that they were "overwhelmed". So, a judge has ruled that the city is in contempt and fined them $1,000 per person that was held for too long. This applied to about 500 of them. I guess that's the price of doing business when your plan is to hold them until the Commandant in Chief leaves town.

In other local developments, thestore owners have been pretty down in the dumps this week. Mayor Mike's "blissful" outlook on the supposed boon to the economy of New York City has produced vendor after vendor of people with stories of being locked down in such a fortress-like atmosphere, that the stores have been doing very little business all week. I haven't gotten the numbers on how well the hookers fared, but my guess is that those fat, overstuffed delegates probably stuff their bras pretty well! Who knows? Maybe George got a little noookie while Laura was on stage (I'll save you pundits the Clinton comeback and insert it here for you). (Heh heh, Beavis! He said 'insert'). Seriously, the store owners, from Macy's (Herald Square) down to the street vendors took a beating, according to the interviews I have seen all week.

Now, you guys have had your fun. Your pipes are clean! You're all pumped up. So, get out of town! And don't let the door to the Holland Tunnel hit you in the ass! :)

I think that it awful that someone took a pot shot at that office. Someone has a serious problem and needs help. Nothing is solved when violence is used as a first resort and that should only apply to the Military, never unless defending yourself while protesting. My guess would be that was some wacko that was just looking fer an excuse to pop off on some one. I hope they find him and through away the key.

I'm real suprised to hear about your report, TB. I thought that more money would have brought to the city, but I guess by living in this country nowadays, in order to be secure, we must lock down. The other thing, is that cities might look at this situation and reconcider hosting a Convention, due to cost of security and lack of revenue. Bringing money into the city is always a big selling point, now it looks like people will have to get creative on how to bring cash into a locked down city.
