That crazy chick they fragged out in the pink dress durinf Dick's speech wasn't a delagate. She was a protester from outside. do you have a link to the story?” 11:27:32 AM 9/03/04 “Shrub did not have anything to say about mountaintop removal-valley fill coal mining in his speech. The following link explains why: Administration appeals MTR injunction” 11:28:16 AM 9/03/04 “You're probably right Nigal. Nobody in the diverse GOP convention would stoop to protesting the president's policies as a matter of principle.” 11:31:36 AM 9/03/04 “"Shrub did not have anything to say about mountaintop removal-valley fill coal mining in his speech. The following link explains why: Administration appeals MTR injunction" Common Geo, what's wrong with providing nice level campsites for backpackers :)” 11:32:38 AM 9/03/04 “"You're probably right Nigal. Nobody in the diverse GOP convention would stoop to protesting the president's policies as a matter of principle." When did I say that? And again, gotta link?” 11:34:41 AM 9/03/04 Be my guest, Bison. Tentsites galore “ ”11:36:25 AM 9/03/04 “Of course, Bush completely skirted the most important issues like: 1. How in the hell are we gonna pay for the largest deficit in U.S. history? 2. What is he gonna do about Osama? 3. When we will be out of Iraq?” 11:37:20 AM 9/03/04 “I can't camp on that little red x Geo.” 11:39:57 AM 9/03/04 11:41:56 AM 9/03/04 “Nigal, all the major news organizations have reported on protesters inside the hall being arrested, and I posted a photo of one being hauled away. Perhaps when the City of New York gets around to processing them and releasing them we will learn more, but in the meantime, credentials are required to get into the hall. If those people were not delegates, security for the president of the United States' nomination acceptance speech were awfully lax.” 11:45:46 AM 9/03/04 “Yoo hoo! Geo...got a link to an actual story about that 'delegate' that got dragged out?” 11:46:42 AM 9/03/04 “If those people were not delegates, security for the president of the United States' nomination acceptance speech were awfully lax." Geobeet 11:45:46 AM 09/03/04 Geo makes an awful big ASSumption, that only delegates would have credentials, how about media, volunteers, other paid workers.... etc... etc... etc...” 11:48:43 AM 9/03/04 “So you saw the picture and made the story up with assumptions?” 11:49:00 AM 9/03/04 “And those supposedly abyssmal July jobs numbers that the dems loved crowing about were revised...UP.” 11:53:16 AM 9/03/04 “From TV reports last night, it appeared as though the people hauled off were delegates. That apparently is not the case. A group called Code Pink reported four of its anti-war protesters were arrested inside the hall last night.” 11:57:54 AM 9/03/04 In a nutshell... “Those people got in because some of the delegates were simply handing them out, according to amNew York newspaper, which is owned by Newsday. I can't find it in the on-line edition, but I have the article in hand here. Credentials given to delegates were handled by the RNC. The delegates were also given guest passes. Some states were very tight with them and some weren't, apparently. The RNC did not return phone calls asking for comment...” 11:58:23 AM 9/03/04 “2 minutes on Google and it's all cleared up. Of course then the picture wouldn't have said what you wanted to to. "Two protesters somehow made it onto the convention floor and were dragged out when they started shouting halfway into President Bush's nomination acceptance speech. The two women - from a group calling itself Code Pink - were arrested two minutes apart, and each time angry delegates turned and drowned them out with chants of "four more years!" full story Were these repub delegates? And these 12 AIDS patience? Repubs? Who’s Code Pink anyhow? Wow, they don’t LOOK republican. Quite dishonest of you Geo.” 12:04:54 PM 9/03/04 “sounds like some of the good-ole-boys got a little too drunk or something and maybe gave their guest passes and such out to the wrong folks! according to the article, their credentials were real...” 12:07:12 PM 9/03/04 “And security was not exactly lax there. Hell, you couldn't even bring an umbrella into the garden...” 12:08:38 PM 9/03/04 “ ”12:21:15 PM 9/03/04 “Hawhawhawhaw! Now THAT'S funny!” 12:23:18 PM 9/03/04 “I just heard that since the surprise handover a day early to the hand-picked 'Iraqi' government worked so well, the Bush administration has decided to move our election up to today as a way to forestall the feared terrorist attacks on Democratic voters. Better get to the polls. I understand they close at 4 pm.” 12:32:10 PM 9/03/04 Not dishonest at all! “Quite dishonest of you Geo." Nigal I explained myself two posts before yours. I was operating on the intelligence available to me at the time, but subsequently found out the intelligence was faulty. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. What's good for the goose is good for the goosee!” 12:36:43 PM 9/03/04 “Moreover, no countries were invaded as a result of my actions.” 12:37:24 PM 9/03/04 “So when do I get my apology, geo?” 2:30:04 PM 9/03/04 “Hold your breath.” 2:59:39 PM 9/03/04 “"I was operating on the intelligence available to me at the time, but subsequently found out the intelligence was faulty. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. What's good for the goose is good for the goosee!" LOL! Alright. Ya get a pass this time.” 3:43:42 PM 9/03/04 “Dubya and me don't get caught without our dancing shoes on!” 3:57:53 PM 9/03/04 “He gets a pass most of the time. This is not the first time Mr. Geo has acted with inadequate intelligence.” 3:59:12 PM 9/03/04 4:08:12 PM 9/03/04 “Yeah, I'm not blessed with perfection like you are bacpac.” 4:09:14 PM 9/03/04 “Where I come from people are civil to one another. When you call someone a liar and later find out that they were telling the truth you apologize. Maybe things are diferent where you live, but more likely you just lack maturity.” 4:35:41 PM 9/03/04 “I didn't call you a liar. I argued a point and acknowledged that I was wrong. Therefor I have no reason to apologize to you. Get over it.” 4:40:06 PM 9/03/04 “I'll apologize for you Geobeet. I'm sorry bacpac is such a whiner.” 4:42:25 PM 9/03/04 geobeet “I hope your approach to dealing with people works for you.” 4:50:56 PM 9/03/04 “LMFAO, Poor Poor packy poo, ... what a fragile ego!” 5:05:07 PM 9/03/04 “According to the new Time Poll (leans left) Bush has opened an 11 point lead, now that's a mighty bounce. Sorry Senator. Sorry Libs. Your boy better be a great debater.” 6:12:42 PM 9/03/04 “Do you have a bumper sticker all picked out, Bison?” 6:16:10 PM 9/03/04 “but more likely you just lack maturity." bbw 04:35:41 PM 09/03/04 Aigh! This coming from YOU, of all people?” 6:18:37 PM 9/03/04 “I like the oval one - "W04" It has a certain subtle power.” 6:20:20 PM 9/03/04 “BTW the poll was conducted BEFORE Bush gave his speech. I doubt Bush's speech hurt him any.” 6:21:09 PM 9/03/04 “Not until people point out that he is making promises about American empire, maybe. "new century" jeez.” 6:25:58 PM 9/03/04 “You're in luck Phaedrus they sold out of your bumper sticker. Maybe they still won't have any after the election :)” 6:31:33 PM 9/03/04 “Tell you what, I'll buy this bumper sticker for you, and you won't have any out-of-pocket expense when you lose the bet.” 6:35:40 PM 9/03/04 “$4.59? what a rip-off. Imaginative though.” 6:38:15 PM 9/03/04 “Damn BBW what do you expect? Getting one of this bunch to just admit they were WRONG is a frickin' merical in itself. Be glad ya even hot that much. If it were Buddha Bush you'd still be arguing round and round and he'd still be refusing to admit he was wrong.” 7:45:21 AM 9/04/04 “It's a moot point Nigal. I never called him a liar. He's just trying to bust my chops. On the whole, he owes me a lot more apologies than that. And you're right, bacpac has never admitted to being wrong, even when it was plainly obvious.” 9:54:40 AM 9/04/04 “He admitted being wrong once, but then later retracted it, saying he was mistaken.” 10:08:44 AM 9/04/04 “"But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make when all those legs and arms and heads chopped off in a battle shall join together at the latter day and cry all 'We died at such and such a place,' some swearing, some crying for a surgeon, some upon their wives left poor behind them, some upon the debts they owe, some upon their children rawly left. I am afeared there are few die well that die in a battle." Shakespeare” 10:55:33 AM 9/04/04 “I think that the Republicans ran a good convention. A few weeks back, it looked like Kerry was opening up a lead. Now, it looks like Bush is up a few points. I found David Brooks' article in today's NYTimes interesting. He looked at all the increased spending programs presented in Bush's speech as a view into the second Bush term. Brooks believes that Bush will increase government spending on social programs and try to reform entitlements. He believes that Bush might abandon the tax cuts so that he can increase the size of government. And I'm willing to believe him half way. Bush has proved that he likes to spend the people's money. He has not cut much and greatly expanded things like the military and faith based initiatives. But I also think that Bush will try to keep the tax cuts. He'll argue that the deficits won't matter. I have a problem with this. The greatest threat to America is not terrorism. It is fundamental economic weakness. Our military, educational system and scientific expertise rely on a strong underlying economy. Bush's speech supported government expansion. This will exacerbate the massive Bush deficits and undermine our economic strength. Remember that the best government is limited government. An expansionist Republican president without the restrain of an opposition party in Congress is bad.” 1:26:39 PM 9/04/04 Jump to Page << prev
